Today with the release of iOS 17.4, we are excited to share that Meraki Systems Manager will now report on app installation distributor source! SM now reports the app's installation source such as: App Store, Test Flight, side loaded, or any custom alternative third party app store identifier. Extremely useful for security in European deployments where alternative third party App Stores are now allowed. To further enhance the security, use a Meraki SM Security Policy to define your organization's allowed app store distributors & secure devices in bulk. 

We’re excited to announce that all iOS 17 devices, including the new iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max can be enrolled and managed with Systems Manager MDM.

We are excited to announce the public Early Access launch for Systems Manager Scripting! This will allow Meraki Systems Manager to deploy Powershell scripts (.ps1) to Windows devices and shell (.sh) scripts to macOS devices. This is Systems Manager's first Meraki Early Access feature!

Scripting has been a popular feature request for Systems Manager for a long time, so we are excited to finally share this feature. Scripts allow powerful configuration and management control over Windows and macOS devices. 

Navigate to Organization > Early Access page and toggle “Opt-in” for "Deploy scripts for Windows and macOS" to enable this new feature.

The announcements keep on rolling and our Meraki Systems Manager team is excited to share with you our brand new Managed Per App Networking feature in conjunction with the Cisco Security Connector app! This powerful feature will allow users of Meraki Systems Manager to deploy Cisco security on a per-app basis for both supervised and unsupervised devices, allowing for greater specified mobile management control.

A new SM app update is available on the AppStore with darkmode, homescreen shortcuts, MR suggested networks, a new UI for managed apps, and more. 

A totally new interface for managing Android apps has been added into Meraki Systems Manager. Also, similar to Web Clips for Apple platforms, Meraki SM administrators can now push websites directly to Android devices with a new feature called Web Apps! 

Today is iOS 16 launch day and Meraki Systems Manager is ready! Systems Manager has new OS compatibility and profiles to support the latest operating systems from Google and Apple. For iOS 16: new eSIM enhancements, new Single Sign On settings, and new Restrictions! Plus, new app management integrations for Android. 

The Systems Manager app for Android has been updated with enhancements for Kiosk mode. This is a great way to lock down managed Android devices so they can only access specific applications. These Kiosk mode enhancements include: 

• Configure device for Kiosk into a Single-App Kiosk or into Multi-App Kiosk
• When using Multi-App Kiosk, remotely control device's branding logo/text/color
• Set brightness (automatic or 1-100%)
• Set screen orientation (automatic, landscape locked, or portrait locked)
• Various bug fixes and stability improvements 

New settings assignment interface with ability for account configurations, provisioning packages, automatic bootstrap token collecting (for OSUpdate and Kernel extensions in Apple Silicon Macs), and native Apple Silicon SM agent. 

Cisco Meraki Systems Manager now has the ability to encrypt drives via Microsoft BitLocker and monitor encryption status for your entire fleet of devices with ease.

• Both of these portals now support SAML authentication! Optionally add Duo 2FA prompts.

Systems Manager Agent v3.1.1 is now generally available for distribution to macOS and Windows devices on all SM networks

Systems Manager Agent v3.1.0 is now generally available for download on Windows and macOS devices in all SM networks. 

Systems Manager admins can now remove multiple Trusted Access devices simultaneously from the Trusted Access device list.

Systems Manager now includes a variety of updates to support changes to management capabilities in iOS/iPadOS 14, Apple's latest major mobile operating system.

Auto-tags for Systems Manager devices based on their method of enrollment are now available in Dashboard. This awesome new feature allows you to scope your settings, profiles, and apps based on the type of enrollment used on a device.

Systems Manager admins can now change or remove device owners from Apple DEP-synced devices. This enables organizations to ensure device owner tag-scoped apps and profiles are associated to DEP-synced devices prior to enrollment.
