Community Guidelines

Community Manager

The Meraki Community is a peer-to-peer channel to help people find answers, solve problems, and get the most out of their Cisco Meraki products and services.

While our community is aimed at Meraki customers and partners, we welcome everyone with an interest in cloud-managed IT, as long as you observe these community rules:

1. Be respectful.

Respect people's time and attention by asking well-thought-out questions and sharing what you've learned so far in your experimentation or prior research. Search first to see if a topic already exists, or if your question has an answer.  Respect people as individuals by keeping your tone positive and your comments constructive.

2. Be relevant.

Make sure your contributions are relevant to the mission of the community and to the specific category or board where you post. To avoid fragmenting discussion, please do not post duplicate messages in different areas of the community. If you have a new question, start a new thread rather than interrupting a conversation. Solicitations inviting members to join, participate in, or buy something are never relevant.

3. Obey the law and keep your word.

Don't post anything that would violate any law, any contractual agreement that you have made (copyright, trade secret or otherwise), or nondisclosure agreements to which you are a party. We won't tolerate any discussion of activities that break the law, including (but not limited to) drug use, hacking or piracy.

4. Protect privacy - yours and others'.

Don't share anything about yourself or your organization that you would not want to see on a road-side billboard. Don’t post contact or other personal information - your own or anyone else’s - or any content that you receive in one-to-one communications without the author’s consent.

5. Remember, this is user-generated content.

You'll find plenty of good advice here, but remember that your situation, configuration, or implementation may vary from that of the individual sharing a solution. Some advice you find here may even be wrong. Apply the same good judgment here that you would apply to information anywhere on the Internet.

6. Cooperate with site Moderators and Administrators.
You may not evade bans or suspensions or otherwise disregard directions from Cisco Meraki Community moderators or administrators. In the event of disputes or clarification on any of the guidelines, the Community Management team has the final say. We will not discuss details of any of our moderation decisions on the public forums.

7. Updating of the guidelines.

These guidelines are subject to update without notice. We urge members to check these guidelines on a regular basis. By using these forums, you agree to follow these rules as well as the full Terms of Use for the Meraki Community.

The Meraki Logo and Meraki Employees

You will notice that some community members have a Meraki logo next to their names (meraki-user-dgrayM) - this means they are Meraki employees.

Like you, they are members of the community, and we encourage them to share their knowledge and opinions here.
