We are excited to announce that Cisco Meraki Canada Region has added support for MX SD-WAN Plus and MI Insight. With MX SD-WAN Plus, users get access to ThousandEyes insights, Smart L7 local internet breakout, performance-based routing, and ML-powered analytics. Meraki Insight provides end-to-end visibility into how users experience a network, providing performance management and troubleshooting with zero setup or configuration required.

We've provided camera-only admin for some time on the MV smart camera side. Now with IoT Admin, we are opening it up for customers to provide their facilities members MT sensor-only admin!

Motion-based retention has become even more powerful, with a new selection tool that allows users to draw custom shapes around areas of interest. This allows organizations more flexibility to select more specific areas that they want to use for video retention, instead of being limited to a rectangular shape. 

We are excited to officially announce Meraki Display, a new Apple TV app for live streaming video walls, now available on the Apple App Store. Meraki Display is a simple, dedicated video wall monitoring solution. The Meraki Vision portal now has new updates to improve navigation between organizations, find cameras of interest, and improve video playback on video walls. 

The Meraki Vision portal now supports zooming in on individual cameras from the video wall.

MV 4.16 beta is now available, and include updates to MQTT, object detection, and Motion Recap image generation.

MV32 now supports occupancy analytics with MV Sense. Occupancy analytics includes desk and person detection, with detection coordinates and data updated by the minute, providing organizations with a real-time view of office occupancy and historical occupancy data, down to the desk and meeting room level. 

The Meraki Vision portal, the dedicated camera-viewing interface, is now out of beta with a dedicated log in screen, and new features. 

Meraki Sensor Sight is a brand new integration between MT sensors and MV smart cameras that associates video footage with environmental events. This feature turns any environment into a smart space by offering complete visibility into the digital and physical world. 

The MV team is excited to share Template support for MV Cameras. This will allow cameras to be included in networks bound with a template.

A few points of note:

1. Any new templates created will allow adding MV’s to networks they are bound to.
2. For any existing networks already bound to a template, MV’s can also be added to them with steps mentioned in the KB article below
3. No MV configurations are included within the templates. The configurations will continue to be managed via profiles and API’s

Dark mode, digital zoom, and more!

The frame rate for the video quality setting with 20 fps is being changed to 24 fps. This affects the "high" video quality setting on 1080P video resolution. Only the frame rate is changing, the bitrate will remain the same. 

A new version of the Meraki Vision portal is now available, which includes new features like camera search and tags.

This update to the role-based camera permissions in the dashboard allows for SAML users to have multiple camera roles applied.

A new version of the Meraki Vision portal is enabling some new features and functionality, including Motion Search preset ranges, and scrolling of video wall lists.

The Meraki Vision Portal, in beta, is a new interface designed for MV video users. It is for video-related activities, like watching live or historical footage, searching, and exporting video. To access the Vision Portal, navigate to Cameras > Monitor > Vision Portal.

The video access page now includes a section for external live stream users. For each user that was shared a live stream link, the list includes their email, name, description, link expiration and the cameras they were given access to.

There is a new image quality option for MV32: 2058x2058 resolution at 1Mbps bitrate and 8fps. This new 2058x2058 option could provides organizations with a higher level of detail (due to increased pixel count), while still maximizing retention due to the lower bitrate. This option will also be compatible with Cloud Archive. For more information on image quality on MV32, please see the Image Quality on the MV32 article in documentation.

MV cameras now support role-based camera permissions for SAML/SSO. This allows organizations to better scale operations by managing individual permissions in one place, outside of the dashboard.

Once configured, this allows camera users to be able to log in the dashboard through the Meraki application within your identity provider. 

Low-latency HLS (LHLS) is now available for second generation MV smart cameras. LHLS reduces the delay in live streaming caused by the buffering period with HLS. Using LHLS, the LAN direct stream has a delay of less than 2 seconds.
