Trusted Access Updates: Dynamic Expiration Dates, Windows 10+ Support, Android with Passpoint

Cisco Meraki Trusted Access simplifies the process of securely onboarding and connecting devices to a Meraki MR network without needing a dedicated device management solution. It works across various operating systems, including iOS, macOS, and Android, and today, we are thrilled to announce the availability of three significant updates to our Cisco Meraki Trusted Access solution - designed to make your wireless onboarding experience with Meraki MRs more seamless, secure, and user-friendly than ever before!

🚨New Feature Alert🚨: Dynamic Expiration Dates for Trusted Access Profiles

We're excited to announce a new feature that allows administrators to configure Trusted Access profiles with dynamic expiration dates. Previously, Trusted Access profiles all expired on the same date. With this new feature, admins can configure a time period (e.g., one month, one year), and the expiration date and time will be determined when the end user downloads the profile to their device.

With this new functionality, Trusted Access now offers several key benefits:

  1. Flexibility: Dynamic expiration dates enable admins to tailor profile expiration periods to individual users or groups, ensuring access privileges stay up-to-date and relevant.
  2. Simplified Management: With dynamic expiration dates, admins no longer need to manage a single, static expiration date for all users, making profile management more efficient.
  3. Enhanced Security: By allowing profiles to expire after a specific duration, organizations can minimize the risk of unauthorized access and ensure that only users with valid, up-to-date credentials can connect to the network.

This feature is handy in scenarios where user access needs change frequently, such as:

  • Temporary or contract workers who require network access for a limited time.
  • Seasonal staff or interns who only need access during specific periods.
