Meraki Wireless Prereuisites

Hi Friends,

We are proposing  a customer with the MR53 wave 2 APs .

1.SO i need to know whether we need to purchase cloud account with enterprise license or enterprise license is enough to have a cloud account ?

2.Do we manage APs without cloud account like Aruba IAP cluster ?

Also please share the ordering guide link to check for MR 53

Regards,

Kind of a big deal

Re: Meraki Wireless Prereuisites

When you want to offer MR53 to a client the only thing you need to offer is the AP and the license:

  1. #numberofAPs x MR53-HW
  2. #numberofAPs x LIC-ENT-xYR

This assumes the client has PoE+ (802.3at) switches that can power the MR53. If not you need to add either power adapters or PoE injectors:

  • MA-PWR-30W-XX: Meraki AC Adapter for MR Series (XX = US/EU/UK/AU)
  • MA-INJ-5-XX: Meraki Multigigabit 802.3at Power over Ethernet Injector (XX = US/EU/UK/AU)

Also note that preferably the switches are multigigabit switches as the wired interface of those APs can go up to 2.5Gbps.

You manage the APs using the Meraki dashboard which you get access to as soon as you have at least one device with a valid license. The dashboard is basically a website which you can use from wherever in the world. The APs automatically dial out to the dashboard to get their firmware updates and their config. This requires certain ports to be open. More info about that here: https://documentation.meraki.com/zGeneral_Administration/Other_Topics/Upstream_Firewall_Rules_for_Cl...
