I feel this feature has a few bugs, for me 16.6.1 wasn't showing in the iPadOS options and I had to refresh my page. Under MacOS I was also getting a list of random applications and not OS updates.       When trying to update iPadOS 15 devices to 16.6.1 I get the following error.    ... View more

@MattMorg  Awesome, will this work for all devices or just supervised devices?    Not being able to force updates on devices that are not supervised is a sore point as it means with zero day threats we need to manually ask everyone to update their devices and then confirm that they do so.  ... As mentioned SM doesn't support priorities like Jamf, the best option would be scope the profile, confirm 100% install and then scope the app.   This method will work OK with doing all devices at once but adding in devices later down the track will get messy and require you to create new tags.   It's not ideal but it's a solution.   ... I agree, the fault could simply be upstream of the AP or could be an interference issue with neighbouring wifi. I would suggest if you haven't visit the location of the problem and have a look at one of the affected devices. Take another laptop with you and see if they freshly connected device has the same issue.    What does the wifi health in the dashboard show? ... View more

I only reboot if there is an issue with a specific device. Rebooting all devices often for no real reason will cause headaches as the access points will need to work out what channels they are all going to use again which means your wireless network will take time to settle each time you do this.      ... Great podcast, I am a massive fan of the app, I use daily at both work and at home.   It's great to be able to make network configuration changes on the go as mentioned, that is my biggest use at work. For home I use it mostly for MV access.    It would be great if packet captures could be started via the app and the results emailed with the attached pcap file   Guest wifi generation would also be useful as that is something I am often asked when I don't have my laptop on me.  ... @JustinGA  I am not sure what you are asking exactly.   I use SNMP to monitor devices within a boarder monitoring system we use and haven't found any issues with having it enabled. It's doesn't appear to have any performance impact on equipment.  ... View more

Meraki MAC filtering works based on Allowing devices not denying them so you would have to add all of the allowed devices to each port.    Can you not restrict access to a single port on the switch at a physical level instead?  ... View more

@tetranet yes you can move the devices between networks within the dashboard, if the configs are very different like you mentioned I would go the extra step of factory resetting the hardware as well so that when it boots up it pulls the correct config and has no trace of the old config on it.  ... I received this email this morning and thought it was worth sharing as I know there are a few community members using the legacy SM. I was expecting it to happen at some point        Hello Meraki customer, Cisco Meraki will be retiring Systems Manager (SM) Legacy and Free 100 licensing types on February 7, 2024. Our records show that you may be using these license entitlements and will therefore not be able to enroll new devices on your Meraki SM Legacy or Free 100 networks after the retirement date. Retirement details: This retirement will only affect Legacy and Free 100 license entitlements. Post-retirement, any network using these license entitlements will be treated as “SM Without Licensing,” but new devices won’t be able to be added. Recommended customer action: If you are affected by this change and wish to continue enrolling more devices after the retirement date, you will be required to purchase new SM licenses. Please see our FAQ for more information about the retirement and license compliance, or reach out to your account manager or reseller to purchase new licenses. If you have any questions not covered in the FAQ, please reach out to Meraki Technical Support at support@meraki.com Thank you, Cisco Meraki Technical Support ... View more
