Network Type in Cisco Meraki

Hi All,

We are starting with  deploying Cisco Meraki MR in our environment. While creating an new Network im getting different options like combined hardware , Switch, wireless and etc. Right now we r just starting with MR im not sure if in further we will have MX MS and camera as well.

What will be the best network type we can choose in this case. If i create an network with Wireless then later can i change this network type to combined if we start with MS and MX.

What will be the best practice use combined network type for all the device or use network type as per the devices. Example for MR use Wireless for MS use Switch. please suggest

Hi.

Yes you can combine (or split) other type of networks later with your wireless network.

We prefer combined just for ease  of looking at one network  as one location.  If you have a customer with a lot locations and different product types it gets confusing.

Always use combined.
