Being able to login to an uplink admin interface via VPN

Hi,

I'd like to be able to VPN into my MX84 and then connect via http/https to one of the uplinks web interface so that I can configure the username/password of the credentials that it uses to connect to the internet.

Is it possible to do this?  If so I'd really appreciate if someone could guide me through how to configure the MX85 to allow this.

A bit more info, my client VPN subnet is 10.80.10.0/24

My uplink device is on WAN2 with an ip address of 192.168.0.2

Thanks in advance

Getting noticed

You should be able to login to the Local Status Page if you connect to the VPN and just browse to mx.meraki.com 🙂 Here you have the option to change the connection type from Direct to PPPoE. Be careful to change this remote as if you type the wrong credentials you will most likely be closing your VPN Session.

Hope this help!

Hi,

Thanks for your post.  I can load the mx.meraki.com page but I'm unable to then connect the my ADSL modems admin interface at http://192.168.0.2.

The mx.meraki.com page allows me to define how I can connect to my uplink device, but I can't see how I can then login to that uplink device's admin page to configure the username and password it uses to connect to my ISP.

How do I bridge the gap between mx.meraki.com and the ADSL modems admin interface?

Many thanks,

Lachlan

hmm OK. I see what you are trying do to.

Have you verified NAT is OK? Routing? Firewall rules? Make sure you have the correct IP-address of the ADSL modem.

Could you try to ping the interface or telnet port 80 to the device?

Kind of a big deal

I've never tried it.  Sounds like it could work.  What happens when you try?
