The MS 15 beta is now available for download in the Meraki dashboard. Head on over to the firmware management page to schedule your upgrades. 

Check out the article in Documentation to get the step-by-step instructions.

But simply:

1- Login to your Meraki dashboard.

2- Visit the Firmware Upgrade page in the dashboard and schedule a firmware upgrade, selecting the MS 15 beta version.

3- By heading to Network Wide > General and turning the “Try beta firmware” to Yes on any individual networks, you’ll be the first to automatically have new beta firmware scheduled for upgrade in the future. Note that this is per-network so you could opt-in your lab and a low-risk site without affecting your production areas elsewhere.

 ** Always be sure to read the release notes for any notable changes or behavioral differences

With MS 15, you’ll get powerful new network security and analytics capabilities, streamlined policy management, and enhanced PoE capabilities. Let’s get into the specifics: 

New in the MS390 only:

• 802.3bt - Enable your network with the industry standard for 60 Watts of PoE per port to power next-generation Access Points, Cameras, and Smart building automation
• NBAR based Netflow export - Built for Cisco Secure Network Analytics and many other flow collectors, providing full NBARv2 traffic analysis
• Encrypted Traffic Analytics - Get in-depth analysis of traffic without decryption for use with Cisco Secure Network and Cloud Analytics
• StackPower status - Verify and monitor StackPower status and StackPower budgeting information for the respective switch in a StackPower pool

New in MS390 but already available in other MS switches:

• Critical/Failed Auth - Provide limited access VLAN assignment for a failed authentication
• Group Policy ACLs - Per-session 802.1X inbound ACL enforcement

New in both MS390 and others:

• FIPS mode - now available for those requiring FIPS compliance - please contact your Meraki rep if required

• Named VLANs - Send VLAN names rather than ID numbers from the RADIUS server and let the switch automatically map to the appropriate VLAN ID

• Dynamic config for Voice VLAN - Further streamlining policy management across networks

The MV team is excited to share Template support for MV Cameras. This will allow cameras to be included in networks bound with a template.

A few points of note:

1. Any new templates created will allow adding MV’s to networks they are bound to.
2. For any existing networks already bound to a template, MV’s can also be added to them with steps mentioned in the KB article below
3. No MV configurations are included within the templates. The configurations will continue to be managed via profiles and API’s

Meraki Insight is launching Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for Web App Health in Public Beta. This feature will help answer the following questions:

1. What triggered application performance issues for a given network

2. What steps should be taken to resolve the problem

A brand new sensor status alert profile provides remote visibility to online status, battery level, probe connections, and physical tampering to help keep your business-critical assets protected. 

We are excited to announce a brand new Meraki health feature "Alert hub" which will soon be available as a public BETA feature.

A brand-new user interface for the MT20 Door Sensor data on the dashboard provides a tailored experience for users.

Simple and secure temperature monitoring prevents inventory loss of perishable goods inside refrigerators and freezers.

 New endpoints have been launched to track Application and Network health with Meraki insights:

1. List all insight tracked applications : GET/organizations/{organization_id}/insight/applications

2. Application health by time : GET/networks/{network_id}/insight/applications/{application_id}/healthByTime

3. The uplink loss percentage and latency in milliseconds, and goodput in kilobits per second for a wired network device.: GET/devices/{serial}/lossAndLatencyHistory

New data visualization update for MT12

A new version of the Meraki Vision portal is now available, which includes new features like camera search and tags.

This update to the role-based camera permissions in the dashboard allows for SAML users to have multiple camera roles applied.

With the MX16 firmware release, NBAR will be available for full-stack enablement! 🚀

Two exciting new features now available on the Meraki dashboard for MT!

• Time delay alerting
• Custom time range for viewing data

New updates are designed to make it easier to identify underperforming access points, solve sticky client issues more quickly, and trigger alerts by implementing anomaly detection by using Meraki machine learning models. 

The Meraki Dashboard now provides the ability to schedule environmental alerts to only send during specific time periods and an updated alert profile menu makes it easier to customize alert conditions. 

Meraki Insight will now have alerts configurable for WAN and VoIP by navigating to the Insight → Configure → Alerts tab

The alerts management landing page will give a quick overview of alerts being managed and the status of each alert.

An update to the Meraki Mobile App is now available! This update includes a smattering of new features, ranging from MV Historical video to LLDP / CDP information of the upstream device on your Meraki hardware, as well as a wide assortment of bug fixes!

Cross Organizational MAC search is live for all customers.  This functionality allows for customers to search across multiple organizations for a full MAC address.

The video access page now includes a section for external live stream users. For each user that was shared a live stream link, the list includes their email, name, description, link expiration and the cameras they were given access to.

"Custom Time range" in MI is now available on WAN, Web, and VoIP health making SD-WAN troubleshooting simple and granular.
