I do hope they will support MST at some in the future. In scenario’s where clients don’t want to pay for stacked switches in the core you have a single STP topo without the possibility to load balance VLANs across it.

On the videos I checked they are all using the same CDN. So I would block that. Not sure if that will also change every day, but it is worth a shot. Also it seems like the service won't work without authenticating, when doing that it is doing it via the same primary domain (4kmovies.online) I would assume changing domains daily with DNS propagation and changing the location of the authentication service everyday has to be time consuming. Also IP range they are currently using is 104.31.77.0-104.31.77.255 and located in Chicago behind Cloudflare. I thought maybe you could try a block from a country outside if yours, but looks like that won't work. cdn.4kmovies.online

BrechtSchamp was right. I checked it out: Based on MS11.22 firmware; MS225, MS210 switches: First you have to enable Storm Control in "switch" -> "switch settings" by adding a rule. Then you have an additional "Storm Control" setting in the switchports (not on the MS120 and MS220 switches!) best regards.

I agree with all of the above. The big thing for us is infrastructure. We ditched our last server in 2007 and all of our services are hosted. Meraki was one of the first to offer a hosted MDM suite and is one of few currently offering a camera suite w/o the need for an NVR. The cost is a little more, but for a smaller team makes more sense in my eyes.

@Aaron_Wilson Yes, we've done it a number of times. It's really never been a big deal. For edge devices, my company only sells the advanced security license now, because content filtering/AMP/IPS are pretty good. Our primary customer is an SMB who isn't willing to spend for a lot of separate services to provide defense in depth. The advanced security stuff lets us improve their posture in a way that they'll accept easily.

I would recommend to tell them also, to get the IP out of the dhcp pool after you put it as your APs static IP... Otherwise another device yould get that IP when your MR is offline several hours or days, depending to their leastime.

As @BrechtSchamp described. i also agreed this is the best way to find out the offline device also it can tells you the alerting device which have connection problem.

@BrechtSchamp I always have a dedicated VLAN for my access points so I'm assuming that his possible solution is on by default in my situation. My ports are trunked, with the SSID vlans allowed, and the management vlan as well. the management vlan is native vlan on my trunk ports so access points reside on that vlan. Makes no difference either way when I tested it.

I believe that 'Alert when a switch port is connected / disconnected' is part of the Meraki cloud controller poprietary MIB. See Traps in here: https://documentation.meraki.com/zGeneral_Administration/Monitoring_and_Reporting/SNMP_Overview_and_Configuration#SNMP_Traps The MIB itself is available within Dashboard: Organization > Configure > Settings, under SNMP Does your alert have to be via SNMP? Can you not use Network-wide > Configure > Alerts? Under switch, when a port type goes down for selected period - this generates alert emails - or alerts via Webhooks, if you can use that.

If you have a spare device what is unused, be sure it isn't in any network.. devices can be in you inventory without taking a license 😉
