33 Switches (couple of stacks) , 150 Accesspoints. But regarding to your posts, decided to put all in one network 🙂

Hi @BlakeRichardson , got a further question on this... Nearly the same question as above, but this time there is already a network running and now another building is coming in with its own corestack, switches and accesspoints. Existing network/building and new building are connected to each other. The new Corestack will get its uplink through the existing corestack. Is there a best practise for this? All in one Network or a new network for the new building? It may be more clearer if I have to networks, but as it is at the exact same address and even connected between each other I´m not sure what the best way is. Thanks, regards Marc

Hi all, I have got a template, where 200+ networks are bind to. In this template is an SSID secured by PSK. So all sites have got the same. Some staff is traveling around and already got to know the PSK. Is there a chance to block these MACs all over the binded networks? I don´t want to put in the mac in each network. (disabed wlan mac randomizer). Thanks, Regards Marc

Hi all, just have a question regarding to my network design for a new site... Will have a stack of two coreswitches (aggregationswitch), a few access switches and a several accesspoints. In the past, I made a network and put all devices into the same network. Now I´m thinking of making two networks... One for the corestack, the other for all switches and accesspoints. How do you guys do it or is there a best practice? Thinking of updating firmwares... in the network where I have all in one, I can only update everything... It may make sense to only (or step by step) update accessswitches (first). Thanks for your tips.

As far as I understood, when you make a change within a template, the individual settings of the networks will be lost. Thats why I have not used them so far. Only for intial setups. Recognizing I´ll need to do some specific settings, I´ll unbind the network. (At least when the specific change is part of the template, if not its fine (example, template only manages wifi and I change something within switchportsettings, its fine)) My template is completely new, so all products appear in it, it is not cloned from a existing network.

Ah, I see, yes... Well should work, afaik. Or you could whitelist the client for this SSID completely? YOu did not write something about bandwidth limit or something like that. whitelist bypasses the splash page as well. Should be possible to use a complete new network, without any license in it. Then you can configure all and then add the devices on time. Saw this a week or two ago from a meraki staff here in the community who posted this... (found it) Not into API, still, but should be possible to do it with API as well: https://github.com/meraki/automation-scripts copyswitchconfig.py, if you already have these settings in your old network.

As written, it will be the root bridge in your network, means also for all known vlans on the switch. 🙂 Have a look into @Brash post bbelow as well: Meraki switches run RSTP. https://documentation.meraki.com/MS/Port_and_VLAN_Configuration/Configuring_Spanning_Tree_on_Meraki_... They are interoperable with (but do not run) MST and PVST. The Vlan 1 requirement is if you connect a Meraki switch to a device that does PVST. The connecting device must have a PVST instance on vlan 1 in order for the Meraki switch to receive BPDU's. https://documentation.meraki.com/MS/Deployment_Guides/Advanced_MS_Setup_Guide#PVST.2FPVST.2B

Microsoft Endpoint Manager = intune? If yes, google showed that it is possible to create a WiFi Profile, where you can configure a wifi and push the configuration to your devices.

Hi, https://documentation.meraki.com/MR/Client_Addressing_and_Bridging/VLAN_Tagging Per-Device Type VLAN Tagging Group policies can automatically be assigned to different device types such as Android, iPad, iPhone, iPod, Mac OS X, Windows, etc. If the group policy includes a VLAN ID, then group policy’s VLAN ID will be applied to the user and override any VLAN settings for that SSID or user. Group policies can also be manually assigned to devices in the in the Monitor->Clients->Edit Details page.
