Would you mind elaborating on that a bit?   There are MX1 <-> MS1 and MX2 <-> MS2 all-VLAN trunk links and MX1 <-> MS1/2 + MX2 <-> MS1/2 access links for each VLAN.   So, if I'm understanding what you said properly, if we're only trunking a single VLAN but using access for the other VLANs, we should be okay, but it still wouldn't align with the best practice of keeping things consistent. Otherwise, having a trunk link and access configured for the same VLAN (or many in our case) would cause problems.   In that case, the recommendation would be that I remove all of these extraneous access links and only leave the trunk links, right?   I just want to be clear so that I don't schedule downtime for maybes. Is it certain that combining an trunk link and access link for the same VLAN on an MX would cause problems? If so, do you know if there's any documentation for reference when I submit my planned maintenance window?   Thank you for your input, I appreciate it. It appears to want something selected even for the disabled SSIDs. So, just check any of the boxes for SSIDs 2-4 and it should save. They're disabled so it doesn't matter anyway.  ... View more

MXxxW existis because not all MXs are / need to be / can be locked away in the bowels of a building.   The best use case I came across for these was for a customer who hired out large meeting rooms / small offices for relatively short periods and wanted to stand up a secure 'office in a box' at very short notice - simply by sticking the MX on the desk.    Getting coverage from there was not a problem, with the built-in antennas. For me this comes back to good practise for WiFi ; survey what's needed on a site-by-site basis. It's then about using the right tool (or right set of tools) for the right job. I should probably have caveated my own initial comment too;  'in most cases'  probably reflects the larger businesses I cover.   In SMB 'most cases' might well best suit an appliance with built-in Wi-Fi. ... I got the solution for this for those who run into it. If you have your one time codes that are listed under your profile then you can use that to log in to the dashboard.  If you are logged in, you can disable 2FA via "My Profile" by following the steps linked below: https://documentation.meraki.com/General_Administration/Other_Topics/Two-Factor_Authentication#Disabling_Two-Factor_Authentication Please note that in order to do this, a full organization administrator must first disable the organization-wide setting "Force users to set up and use two-factor authentication". To disable this, navigate to Organization > Configure > Settings > Security > Two-factor authentication > Uncheck the box After disabling the organization setting and disabling 2FA on your profile, it can be set back up using new configurations, and the organization setting can be re-enabled. Once you disable 2FA, you can reenable and a qr code will appear.  Disabling the organization-wide "Two-factor authentication" setting will not disable or change MFA/2FA for any users. This feature forces new users to set up two-factor authentication, and if it has been set up, those users will still need to use 2FA to login. After disabling this setting and disabling your account's 2FA from "My Profile", the setting can be re-enabled. ... View more

You will no longer receive firmware updates or fixes, lincluding for bugs and/or security fixes. Meraki Support will no longer provide substantial support in the event that you have a problem with the device.
