You deserve double kudos for that. I can only see a wall of text.

I generally agree that this is a best practice. However, with tuned basic rates, the overhead of some more SSIDs is typically tolerable if functionality can be improved.

This thread gives a bit more guidance. I too cannot access it without requesting access.

What are you using to measure the 500/200 speed? Is the speed better after the MX has had a reboot?

Hey, were you able to exchange the license key without any additional cost? I am in the same situation, I asked for MX67C and got MX67 Advance License.

I haven't used it in a very long time, but you could also look at the Bulk Network Creation Tool. https://documentation.meraki.com/General_Administration/Templates_and_Config_Sync/Using_the_Bulk_Network_Creation_Tool

Agreed. The doc link is probably the best reference and when this gets asked next time folks should just link to that instead of a long thread of everyone explaining what's already documented 😉

Right, but using this method significantly weakens the effectiveness. If this feature actually works then you end up with a network you can troubleshoot with proactive notification in some places but not in others. That sucks.

Meraki report this has now been fixed, and I can confirm I've not seen any false offline/dormant status for several weeks now.

As of today you can opt for Subscriptions if it's a net new purchase/deployment (no existing org and licensing in place) or if you're on Co-term and it's due for renewal. Once an Org is shutdown you can't do much. The dashboard will show as shutdown when you login. And most functions stop working. I think? switches maybe still pass traffic. It's been forever since I tested a shutdown org to see what if anything functions. Maybe someone else with recent experience can chime in.

Thanks everyone for the input. I believe this is the direction we're going. It will be at least a few days before we begin moving forward with this. So if anyone still has an opinion let me know.

I noticed this as well. I was trying to test an issue the other day to see if it was an IP conflict, and found I couldn't just change the MR IP address.

Depending on traffic types flows will be kept on the WAN it was initiated on. Load balancing doesn't implicitly mean all traffic will always be spread across both WAN ports. This is mentioned in the following doc https://documentation.meraki.com/MX/Firewall_and_Traffic_Shaping/MX_Load_Balancing_and_Flow_Preferences

At some point I was considering faulty hardware due to bad VVRP packets checksum. So, I have decided to use another switch to have the LAN trunk from MX connected to. Once the MXs were connected there the problem was resolved. So, I went back to original switch to see what the difference is when i noticed on the original i had stp guard - bpdu guard active on these ports! After disabling stp guard on the original switch - all went back to normal. While in the documentation recommends enabling RSTP globally, it doesn't mention not to use STP Guard for those ports as it will cause issues.

For the firewalls, I just use the Notes field and put in the port info. i.e. p01.w01: Comcast #xxx p02.w02: Verizon #xxx ----- p03.l01: ↔ 4607-SW01 p04.l02: ↔ 4607-SW02 p05.l03: ↔ 4607-SW03 p06.l04: -x- p07.l05: -x- p08.l06: -x- p09.l07: -x- p10.l08: -x- p11.l09: -x- p12.l10: -x-

An IPsec or client VPN will always terminate on your primary WAN port. AutoVPN's can be made simultaneously on WAN1 and WAN2. However you don't have the ability to add another port to terminate VPN's separately.

By default integrated LTE would be the path of last resort. Meaning only active when WAN 1 & 2 fail. However, you can override this behavior by enabling "Cellular active uplink" on the Security & SD-WAN > SD-WAN & traffic shaping page. This makes WAN 1 & cellular the active uplinks (instead of WAN 2). https://documentation.meraki.com/Architectures_and_Best_Practices/Cisco_Meraki_Best_Practice_Design/Best_Practice_Design_-_MX_Security_and_SD-WAN/Meraki_SD-WAN#SD-WAN_over_Cellular_Active_Uplink
