Dashboard Layout

Hi All

As I have a 'Greenfield Dashboard' to design I am hoping to garner some knowledge from people who have done this before.

The company I work for has 10 sites, in 5 countries.  The plan over the next 12 months is to implement SD-WAN using Meraki MX devices and then over the longer term to implement MS, MR across all sites.  As each site is its own financial silo, they will have their own license start and end dates.

Would it be better to have a single Organization, <Company Name>, with a separate network per site, <Location>, and a Subscription License per site. Or, would it be better to have a separate Organization per site with separate networks for MX devices, MS devices, etc., where the networks for the site share the same Subscription License.

OrganizationSubscription LicenseNetwork
<Company Name>
 01_Sub_LicSite_01
 02_Sub_LicSite_02
 03_Sub_LicSite_03
etc.......
 Or
OrganizationSubscription LicenseNetwork
Site_0101_Sub_LicSite_01_MX
  Site_01_MS
  Site_01_MR
Site_0202_Sub_LicSite_02_MX
  Site_02_MS
  Site_02_MR
etc.......

Thanks in advance for any advice and other options you can share.

P.S.  I would choose the first option as I like things simple and clean - but you may have a different experience.

A couple of quick things. In order to use Auto VPN & SD-WAN the MXs need to all be in the same Org. And Networks can only have one MX config (single MX or HA pair).

So, one Org is pretty much a must. As is separate Networks for each location/MX.

Subscriptions are applied at the Network level. So that will meet your requirement of per site costs.

Thanks Ryan

Good point regarding the MXs needing to be in the same Org for SD-WAN.  Should have recalled that from the SD-WAN design I put together.  That answers that question.

One Org is also going to be much easier to manage. Each country could still purchase their own hardware and licenses in seperate orders otherwise centralise the purchasing and finance will have to allocate the cost to whatever cost centre is purchasing them.
