Think I found the source. I checked MXToolBox and the school domain name is fine but the IP address had been blacklisted by several organizations. We recently changed ISP so it appears the new static IP had issues.

After all the conversations that were had in this chat, I am happy to announce that the correct answer is... 🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁 E! Traffic coming from that subnet bound to the internet will leave through the local breakout (split tunnel), and since there is no specific flow preference for that subnet, it will be load balanced! @GFrazier I reported a bug with an MS210 stack, but was told that it impacted both MS210s and MS225s when stacked, it was mentioned as resolved in the 14.12 release notes and the case was updated to tell me that this release fixed the issue I was seeing: https://community.meraki.com/t5/Switching/New-MS-14-12-firmware-unexplained-reboot-and-L3-issue-upon/m-p/107206

@NolanHerring after @KarstenI 's post I just upgraded all our sites and they seem to be working okay. At the moment we have hardly any traffic so cannot be 100% sure that there aren't some issues but I'm planning to go to a mixed site next week and will do some testing to confirm that there aren't issues.

We use MXs for almost all of our public WiFi provision as well, it is excellent as you don't need to get to the "management interface" that most firewalls have either on a physical port or mapped to an internal interface. Soooo much better than the ASAs we have moved away from.

I still had an issues WiFi Performance hop from 2 to 3 dots on my iOS and Mac devices on one of my AP. Also roaming between 2 AP working not as expected. I use 802.11r adaptive since most of my devices came from Apple. I disable client balancing and relay on 802.11r and 802.11v but I don’t see 802.11k. I use wpa2 enterprise network with Cisco Cloud authentication and since half year I see lots of disconnections. Only option is to disable and enable WiFi on clients. unfortunately Meraki support still can’t resolve this issue. My devices are 2 MR33, mx67 an ms 220 8 port when I using Ruckus or Extreme Network AP I don’t see this kind of problems PS. Why Meraki Cloud don’t support WPA3 Enterprise?

Hi, I finally got it properly working. changes I've made: igmp querier and BCC server in same vlan and subnet, Although the latter is not really a hard requirement, but better to do anyhow. More important and very obvious but easy to overlook, disable unknown multicast stream flooding on all switches. 🙂 Tracing shows, clients need to explicitly join the streams and block these when leaving/changing the stream. it is all IGMPv3. What I do lack is a proper overview of the clients joining particular streams. Meraki is currently the only switch vendor not showing this. I made a request to Meraki to have this incorporated in the Meraki features. Thanks to all for your feedback

It sounds like to me the link is being overloaded and then packets get dropped. have you tried prioritizing some of the traffic via traffic shaping / QoS.

I'd get a fibre adapter plate then, you'll see that it is simply a plate with holes that hold the couplers in place and usually clip them on the back side. Technically the same as just using couplers but a bit more secure and protected from accidental damage. Or you could go the whole hog and resplice the fibre into a panel if they are multicore fibres, that way you could convert to LC if you prefer.

There is also 27.6 as a stable release candidate... Only 802.11ac wave2 and newer APs can run the 27.x firmware so 26.x is there for older APs. You have newer models that can run 27.x so you should be running 27.6 in my opinion as it gives you the newer features and appears stable.

For anyone out there interested in this topic, I got the following from Meraki support: "Both SFP and QSFP ports can be used simultaneously for different purposes." and "The ports themselves are independent of each other and using one type does not disable the other type."

Awesome, thank you. We already had the UTP devices in place so was hoping that it would be a thing we could achieve with the kit we have but oh well.
