WiFi 6 is here! We’re excited to announce new access points to the Meraki Go family.

With speed and connectivity being top of mind for many of you, the new GR12 (indoor) and GR62 (outdoor) WiFi 6 access points provide higher performance and improved speeds and capacity over WiFi 5.

What’s New:

  • Faster speeds: get up to 3x faster speeds over WiFi 5 with 1 Gbps Ethernet ports.
  • More capacity: support 2x the number of connected devices with 100 clients per access point.
  • More flexibility: save power and battery life for connected devices with Target Wake Time (TWT), use PoE for convenient power over Ethernet, and more.

New Feature Highlights:

Access new features available only on Meraki Go WiFi 6 access points, which include all the same built-in enterprise security and easy-to-use features from the mobile app and web portal.

  • TWT (Target Wake Time) is a power-saving technology that helps you conserve power and improve battery life for any connected network devices.
  • 1024 QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) is 4x the 256 QAM on WiFi 5. New modulation modes increase the volume of data that can be sent, for improved bandwidth.
  • OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access) offers the ability to divide bandwidth into multiple frequency sub-channels for improved network efficiency and performance.
  • BSS coloring minimizes network performance impacts due to interference, driving wireless performance gains behind the scenes.

Happy these are here. Sad @MiriamGo and @JamesMW didn't give me heads up first! I would like to test out a full stack with the GX50, GS110p and these AP's. I have been waiting on a deployment. Let me know what you can do for us. -Pedro

Will be supported 802.11r Fast Transition?

MiriamGo

@Avro we don't currently support 802.11r but we'll certainly add it to our features wishlist!

Let me know if there are other features you're hoping to see, we're always open to more ways to help you get the most out of our devices.

@AvroNot sure this would benefit Meraki Go. It is designed for large enterprise deployment and Go is more of a simple solution. I generally do not enable unless we have a large & dense deployment with something like Radius running for authentication. If you require this, you can always deploy Meraki Enterprise.
