Meraki is nothing but e waste with the BS policies of locking hardware to meraki dashboards.  They claim its for to combat theft, but lets be real when is the last time someone stole a switch or router from the rack?     It sucks cause so much meraki hardware gets sent to e recycle but they are paperweight unless the company removed them from networks.  Unfortunately many just migrate from meraki licensing to new manufacturer hardware and dont release the hardware.   Or the best one I had was a mx85 I purchased used, 4 months later they pulled from my dashboard saying it was reported lost in shipment.  Turns out the person I got it from bought it at one of those returned/lost packages auctions.     So now when licenses expire we started moving off Meraki for most clients outside of MX's which I am about to move away next ... Meraki support replied with unfortunate news. 1:1 and 1:M NATs will still bypass any Layer 7 country blocking, even with the early access NAT exceptions function active. So, for country blocks, all the hundreds of CIDR entries would need to be added as a layer 3 inbound rule and the NAT exceptions activated. The other option mentiond by Meraki is to scope out the 1:1 NAT allow list by using the country IP blocks that are allowed (instead of using any). That way you don't have to use an early access feature. I am unsure how having hundreds of CIDR blocks in the 1:1 NAT will affect performance though.   Thanks for everyone's help. ... View more

Just a couple of clarifications on my side:   If possible, please make sure you have someone physically present with the impacted device and call into Support. There's a few physical observations and tests that need to be performed to ensure the issue being encountered is the one we are addressing with the interim firmware and not a different one.  The firmware mentioned above is an interim patch. We have done extensive testing, but it is not marked as a stable or release candidate firmware. At this point  would go down the path of APIs. One thing I noticed when moving stand alone networks into a template the subnets are reset and you have to reconfigure those subnets again. It is unknown if your "networks" can be grouped together or how many templates you would need to meet the goal here. ... View more

FRA will look at the calculated -67 dBm boundary between all 2.4 GHz interfaces.  It evaluates cell overlap to identify redundant interfaces ( not needed).  FRA uses neighbor RSSI to evaluate the cell size.  In normal carpeted office space with normal ceiling height (8-10 feet) this works pretty well at reducing the number of 2.4 GHz interfaces and eliminating the over saturation of 2.4GHz that normally exists.  In high ceiling or lower density deployments ( large public venue, warehousing - ceilings 25 feet or over) the neighbors will be heard at the ceiling between one another and not hear the return RSSI from the floor as well.  That can produce un desirable results. If the interface is an XOR (2.4 and 5) it can be converted to a serve 5 GHz radio. FRA can also disable or place in monitor mode any band-locked 2.4 GHz radio to balance the coverage. ... View more
