Yes please, one thing we found is it block countries by where they (the IP's) are registered, not where they actually reside. We found this as they were registered in Russia, but were actually being used in the USA. It blocked the IP's even though they were in the US, so we had to allow Russia....Crazy  ... View more

Yes,  In essence setting statics with the option "while host responds"  The host being in the far end of the link. then the fail over follows the default route priority. statics come before the non-meraki VPN peer, so if the route learnt statically is removed because the tracked host is not responding, then the routes injected by the non-meraki vpn peer should kick in. ... Frankly, if you are in an area in which transmitters broadcasting on the DFS frequencies operate, I'd advise avoiding the DFS channels. The effect of an AP being required to change frequencies can be very disruptive. If an AP is forced to change channels, then there is a mandatory listening period during which the AP checks that there are no other broadcasters using that channel/frequency, usually the delay is up to 30 minutes.   I did the HA method to replace a MX400 from an RMA.  However I had to swap back and forth a couple of times as the RMA did not send me the SFP+ module and the modules are NOT hot-swap.  But it worked.  Each time the network stopped for only about 10 seconds.  The one issue we had that I had not seen mentioned anywhere is on the MS switch settings, I had the old MX mac address as the only one allowed for DHCP.  You need to add both mac addresses (old and new MX) to this setting before starting the swap in order to not cause DHCP blockage.    I did not, and to make things worse, I initiated a  MS firmware upgrade which meant that when the MS did a restart it did not get its address from the new MX and could therefore not reach the cloud to update even the DHCP mac allowed setting.  I had to physically visit every switch and give it a static - once connected to the cloud, the new allowed DHCP mac address synced and then everyone could get back into the network.  Simple mistake, bad consequences.  Just add to your list of things to check. ... This post is still helping... I was having some issues with Barco Clickshare dongles connecting as they didn't know which AP to connect to. They are quite dumb devices that plug in to the laptop via USB and share screen to the base unit connected to the TV. As they don't have much processing power or anything like 802.11v I believe. ... Renumber to 10.x.x.x /16 ranges 😉    Use the second octet for assinging the "location" As example 10.10.x.x/16 for the home and 10.20.x.x/16 for the garden office.   That way you can use the same vlan's on both sides with just a different second octet. Combining the 3rd octet with the vlan is smart, give you easy overview but using it with the 192.168 prefix limits your options when you want to expand.   This way i'm doing the designs of greenfield or renumbering setups to keep it flexible in the future. ... Went back and forth with Cisco tech on 2 different cases over 2 months. The solution for me was on our Sonicwall; UDP/ICMP flood protection. Disabled both, problem solved.    This only happened when wireless users began to logon at a high rate. This is at a high school so at 7:30AM the issue would begin and at 2:45PM it would stop.
