Thank you for the response.  I am going to give that a try.  We have a mix of MR32s, MR42s, and now MR46s (around 220 total).  I have been pleading for a WAP refresh for 2 years now!  😬 ... View more

I know seeing MR32 in a 2022 post is probably giving "eek" vibes.  I have been in the process of upgrading our WAPs to MR46s, but we have a ton of MR32s still in production.     Has anyone experienced the WAP online, showing that traffic is passing, but there are no clients associated.  After a reboot, clients are able to associate, but it lasts a few days before it starts doing it again.     Is it just something I need to plead with upper management to get more MR46s ordered, or has anyone found a solution for this issue?   ... One of our networks (which is set up the same as all of our other networks) received a notification that "The Cisco Meraki Cloud is having difficulties communicating with this device."   This message is showing up on all of the APs on this one network.  I have looked at all of our other networks, and it's not displaying this message.     The APs are communicating out to the internet, and devices are associating with these APs, but there is this notification it's receiving.    Has anyone else received this notification?  Any suggestions?     Thanks in advance.       ... Working in healthcare, we have a lot of potential interference (with radiology machines, microwaves, etc.), and am really looking forward to BSS Coloring capabilities.  Also, I am looking forward to bidirectional traffic capabilities.  We have software that is so reliant on a wireless connection, and will hopefully provide "as good as wired" assurance which our current wireless standards are unable to do.   ... Good Afternoon!  I have been in the community for a while, but I have never replied to this thread.   A little about me and my work   I am the network engineer for a hospital in Indiana.  We use Cisco for all of our networking equipment, and more specifically use Meraki APs for our wireless environment.  We have 3 main hospitals and multiple clinics, so we have a "simply complex" network as I would like to say!  I have been in the network field for 7 years and have loved every minute of it! My experience with Meraki   I was first introduced to Meraki when I worked for a school in 2013, and now work with Meraki daily in my current position.  I enjoy being able to remotely access my wireless environment wherever I am at, and have enjoyed seeing the progress that has been made since 2013.  A fun fact about myself   My fiance and I are both network engineers and the day after our wedding we are flying out to San Diego for Cisco Live!  He's been CL in Las Vegas, but this is my first year going.  We're both taking recert exams for the CCNP R&S 🙂 What a perfect honeymoon for two geeks!    ... We're running 25.9 at this site.  Will definitely open a case with TAC.  I did disable a SSID we don't use, I know it's always a good rule of thumb to not broadcast more than 3 SSIDs on a wireless network.  Thanks! ... View more

Poor Signal on MR32

We have an AP in our environment that seems to need to be constantly rebooted, otherwise clients associated on the AP has a very poor connection.  Even when a client disables their NIC and reconnects while in the area of the AP, it has a very poor connection.  When the AP is rebooted, the clients have a strong signal strength, but after a day or two, any associated client has a very weak connection. Has this happened to anyone before?  I understand we may just be better off replacing the AP, as it does not happen with our other APs (we have just over 180).  I would say 1 out of 180 is pretty good, if you tell me.   Has this happened with anyone else? ... This...  I recently became the network engineer for the company I am working with, and one of the challenges has been wireless.  Our wireless settings were all over the place (some APs with the dB statically set to 30), and our channel width was set to 40.  Once I toned down the dB and I also changed the width from 40 to 20, that has helped tremendously.  We use some computers that run telnet based software that is sensitive to locking out and we were going from unlocking 15 sessions/day to 1 every couple of weeks.  With the density of our network, changing the settings helped out, and may very well help out OP.    ... A company I used to work for, we ran into this issue frequently when we were coming up with wireless solutions at Greek houses.  Holy cow, was it a nightmare.  It sounds like you were given an answer about multicast traffic not being routed, which is what we found out, but it would be nice to find a way for this to work the way we want it to.   ... Thank you for the link to the document you sent.  I will dive in and read it.  I am the network engineer, and we have a voice engineer, so we're both tackling the issue.  We are only allowing the phones to operate on 5GHz.  There was a recent change after we rolled our firmware back, since we have large site (98 APs, mix of MR32 and MR42s), to where we expanded the channel width from 40 MHz to 20 MHz.  Regarding the channels the phones are operating on, I will need to take a look.  The issue happens in certain parts of the building, which leads me to believe it's more of a noise/interference issue (hence the recent site survey, and modifications to the channel widths).  Knowing that 802.11r is not recommended to be enabled unless you're operating on the 11.0(4) firmware is good to know as well.  Thank you for your help thus far.  ... 802.11r- Roaming Issues

To enable or not to enable...    We have Cisco 8821 wireless headsets that seem to be having intermittent roaming issues.  This occurred mostly when upgrading the firmware from 25.9 to 25.13.  One of our Cisco account reps had worked for Meraki TAC and suggested that if 802.11r was not already disabled, to disable it because there had been some known issues with roaming.  We recently had a wireless site survey conducted, to which the wireless engineer suggests we enable 802.11r.  At this point we had to roll back our firmware to 25.9 and 802.11r is still disabled.  Anyone run into similar situations?     Edit: Correct Error ...
