Hi Meraki team,. Now that I've spent a few weeks looking into MT10 and MT20, I've noticed one thing that would be really helpful. The profiles of the MT20 should be time-activatable, so that e.g. during the day an alarm is triggered only when a door is opened for longer than 5 minutes and at night an alarm is triggered immediately. That would be nice to see, because this can then be combined together with the camera in the best way.

Hi there, short question for the stacking port speeds: I just noticed this again and before I forget I wanted to ask if this is a display error. The documentation says 40Gbit and the dasboard says something like "oh yes 40Gbit module, but 10.3Gbit speed". So what is the truth? Help me☕☕ ☕ ☕ ☕ ☕ ☕ ..........

So, another early shift shows that I'am more confused than ever . Powered of all switches and pushed in the stack cables. And see there, TADAAAA a potenial stack was detected. Wondering why it not worked the day before.... After creating the stackit takes so many minutes till it came back online, while the stack was created the switches went to a reboot I suspect. The old switch is connected to an upstream nexus 5672UP with an two port AGGR, since the stack is online one port is in blocking state to LOOP-GUARD. While troubleshooting this things, a console would be nice, the status page show only the boring "trying to find a working ethernet connection" 😄 I'll check this next week to figure out what is causing the loop.

Good morning, first of all many thanks to all for the many feedbacks 😀 just tried this morning with a downtime, all switches off, new and old, switches connected with stack cable and switched on again.........no connection to the cloud. Stack cable pulled, the old switch was back online. the old switch has the uplink via an sfp. I was surprised. In the event log, I find strange SPT entries...... Previously, I had always created stacks only from scratch. I try then times like online-provison variant one downtime the next days.

Good morning, short and certainly simple question to which I have not found anything in the documentation: I have a switch, this is in operation and configured. Now comes a second switch in the same cabinet and should be stacked with the first. What is the procedure. Switch off both and connect with the stacking cables, switch on again and form a stack from the potential stack in the dashboard? Do I need a downtime?

Hi, If the SFP is in the Meraki, it will be displayed in the dashboard, right? With the other SMB switch it worked, right? I once had the problem on a Nexus 5672 that the speed had to be set to 1000, there were also problems with an SFP. So if the SFPs on both sides, Nexus and Meraki, basically work, it can for me only be a problem of the fiber itself. Are transmit and receive plugged in correctly?

Hi, I just built a stack of 2 MS210 and 1 MS225 and spent 2 hours trying to figure out why the LEDs on the stacking port only light green on the MS225 and orange on all the others. Could it just be that the LED colors are different? I have not found any documentation on this, the stack works. 🙉

And here's another smaller project, replacing Cisco Catalyst 2960S/X and Cisco 2802E with Meraki. In addition, a few sensors and a camera were installed. The migration to Meraki was so relaxed, it's crazy. Since everything could be built in parallel, the only thing that was really work was patching the ports. Here is the MS225-48LP, primary for VoIP devices and APs. You may also see the old 2960S and some other old stuff^^. And here is a MS125-48LP for lab use, nothing special.

Hi, just swapped an old HP switch for two MS125-LP. Finally insight into the network, fast rollout of VLANs and rapid response to faults. In the lower part you can still see an MS120-8FP, this is where everything started for this customer. Meraki is addictive 🙂 An older hp switch is still doing its job, who knows how long...

I partially agree with you there. We monitor the temperature of every switch at Cisco Catalyst. Simply for the reason that if a fan fails or a neighboring device generates too much heat, we can proactively intervene. An MT sensor in the rack is a good thing to be able to assess the overall situation, i.e. is the air conditioning running or is the rack getting too hot. We have already tested MT at the rack front and the back, provides good information. BUT, this information does not help me for a single device or even small racks where the MT would have no connection. This is such a simple thing, Catalyst can do it and Meraki can't?

I know this is not a new topic, but what the hell is keeping Meraki from hiding such a simple feature again. Almost every other manufacturer offers such a feature and it is no competition to the other sensors from Meraki.
