There are two new small changes to the dashboard packet capture tool.

 

  • Packet captures will no longer default to being named "packet_capture.pcap". They will instead follow the following format (and can still be modified):
    [NetworkName]_[Model][DeviceName]_IF-[Interface].pcap

 

  • The tool will default to "Download .pcap file" rather than "View output below"

Three change have been added to the dashboard for helping to troubleshoot, configure and keep track of users with Client VPN.

 

  • On the Network-wide > Clients page, the search filter can now filter for Client VPN users
  • The Client VPN page now has an FAQs tab with common troubleshooting issues and recommendations, as well as links to additional help.
  • The Client VPN page now has descriptions of the configuration components, as well as link to additional information.

Video access logs now include external stream sharing links. The access log tracks when generated, viewed, extended or disabled.

 

  • The "Recipient" column indicates the external email the link was shared to.
  • The "User" column will be blank for entries pertaining to viewing the external link since these are non-Dashboard viewers.

When selecting an individual camera name from a video wall while viewing historical video, the timestamp from the video wall will carry over to video feed from the selected camera.

New capabilities and visibility are now available to the Meraki dashboard to help simplify troubleshooting. Users can now pinpoint issues more quickly, and ensure excellent connectivity for clients. These updates are designed to not only provide insights about the health of Wi-Fi clients, but also to provide end-to-end visibility. Enhanced visibility will now allow for immediate identification of whether wireless is problematic, or if, for example, an upstream device is misconfigured.

Video wall visibility has been updated to reflect camera-only admin permissions. Camera-only admins will only see video walls if they have access to at least one camera within that layout. All other video walls in which the user does not have access to at least one camera will be hidden.

Admins can now get visibility into who is accessing video in their network using the Video access log.

Start by navigating to Cameras > Monitor > Video access log. You can filter by camera, event type, user and location.
