"Hello everyone!
My first exposure to Meraki devices was back in 2016 and I’ve been a Meraki enthusiast ever since!
Most of my background and formal training came from active duty military service. After retiring, I took on several Meraki Projects in addition to my normal everyday IT Admin responsibilities.
Fun Facts: My very first Meraki customer installation being the most memorable and fun, I was given the option of riding with the customer in their Lamborghini or flying on their private plane to complete a remote location installation. The private plane ride proved to be the better option due to having sufficient space for all of the Meraki equipment and tool bags needed for the job.
I tend to spend the majority of my free time reading and learning any of the Best Practice Designs, Deployment Guides and Documentation Digests.
Architecture or design guides of any sort are captivating! My favorite learning references (insights) are found in the Hybrid Campus LAN Design Guide and Large Campus Switching Best Practices.
I enjoy reading the Community All-Star profiles especially those that willingly share their separate blogs or websites links outside of the community to preview any tips/tricks offered.
Dialing in Meraki APs (wifi thresholds - packet loss and RF profiles) tends to the most challenging aspect of all the Meraki organizations/networks that I manage. Adding site survey equipment to my tool bag is a long term goal - if any of you have posted best practices on dialing in APs, I’ve paid close attention to it for the opportunity to learn/grow.
I’d love to dabble in the Cisco Spaces on the Meraki side of the house but have yet to wrap my head around what all is required to deploy this within organizations.
I tend to watch for MarketPlace announcements for any/all physical access control integrations. It will be fun to watch some of the future integrations evolve and bring more capabilities tied to the dashboard.
Whenever I have trouble understanding a concept, I know I’m not the first, and I can always rely on the generosity of my colleagues here in the community.
It’s fun to be part of the community, participate when possible AND learn/grow from others."
