🎆🎩🍾Happy New Year!! 🍾🎩🎆

UPDATE: This contest is now closed. Thank you to everyone who shared their 2026 networking resolutions with us! Congrats to our 3 randomly selected winners: @JeroenVercoulen@AxL1971, and @MarcP!!! 🎉

We recently rang in the 2026 New Year, which means it’s time for our annual Resolutions contest!

Each year, we ask you to share your workplace resolutions with the Meraki Community. In last year’s Network Resolutions contest, the community resolved to gain new certifications, explore AI technologies, automate more tasks, fully implement ISE across networks, and more! The Meraki Community continues to be dedicated to learning more and upskilling.

Tell us, how did those 2025 resolutions go? What are you planning to tackle in 2026?

By sharing your resolutions here, you may get some great advice on how to accomplish your 2026 goals or even inspire your fellow networking enthusiasts to pursue theirs. And of course, there is the chance to receive some cool new swag!

Reviewing the 2025 post it looks like I wanted to "become healthier both physically and mentally". I'd say I made some decent progress in accomplishing this both in my personal and professional lives. There is always room for improvement, and shall continue to work on this this year.

For 2026 I aim to create configuration templates to simplify new deployments, audit existing configurations to reduce "one-offs" where possible. I also aim to update outdated existing documentation and outline new documentation new where needed.

Cheers!

Last year, I managed to shed 20kg.  So I am pretty happy with that.

This year, I want to develop additional income streams where I can do something "once" and then sell it again and again (to get scale).  I think I am going to put more effort into my Bitcoin YouTube channel.

On the Meraki side, I would like to get neck deep into Meraki Access Manager and start deploying some of the more advanced Catalyst features.

Ooh I love the additional income streams goal @PhilipDAth. And thank you for asking about mine!

Getting healthier both physically and mentally is always a great call @CDUNK! That's actually one of my goals for the year, too.

My resolution for 2026 is to be more intentional this year, particularly with spending, health, and how I manage my time and energy.

Work specific, I aim to continue learning about AI's impact on online communities and how we should evolve in this new era.

Looking back at my 2025 resolutions, I only (half) achieved one of them - cleaning up my homelab.
It's not perfect but it's far better than it was.

The others got put aside as both work and family pressures picked up.

For this year I'd like to:

  • Setup (and keep) healthier routines
  • Get CompTIA Security+ certified

Hi All,

Yeah, finding balance between work and personal life, like being healthyer it's always in my mind. Considering the cost of living in Sydney, I think a new income stream would be great.

But as for networking, I wish I have more chances to brush up the Networking Fundamentals and also learn new things while helping people in Support or here in our community.

My goal for this year is to strategically align Cisco and Meraki networking solutions with business objectives and impact.

My goal in 2026 is to simplify the networks I manage, all too often we use features because they are there and not because they give us the secure reliable networks that we need!  I aim to use the relatively new automation tools to help with maintaining this once it is properly set up.

This year I am hoping to build a new house so I am currently in the midst of planning my home network that will include home automation using Home assistant. It will also have a purpose built workshop for me to work in that will have some form of server rack.

My goals for 2026 are the following

  • Implementing Cisco Workflows in more depth to make sure all our organizations and networks adhere to our standards;
  • Migrate our Catalyst 9000 install base to the Meraki Dashboard
  • Replace our EoL Cisco and Meraki gear with new Meraki Gear.
  • Get CCNP certified

Honestly, I don't have any goals this year.

There are directions I'd like to go in, but whether it works out, you never know beforehand 😉

I'm just going to let things unfold this year.

That makes it all the more exciting, haha.

Just do what you feel like doing, both personally and professionally, and something good will always come of it.
