Haha, given that some of my cameras cover car parks that's an issue. I will keep an eye open to see if I can disprove that theory when it next rains. If you click on the "Show Objects" when going to the footage from a motion alert email it does highlight the odd car as an object in motion when it most definitely isn't!

Somebody within your environment seems to have received a malicious attachment (possibly) that tries to download some nasty stuff from the internet. Malware nowadays almst never comes in its "pure" form, but rather an innocently looking Office document that by using Macros and Powershell will download the "real" malware. You should therefore take a look at which machine is causing these threats and have your endlpoint team take a look at what's happening on that box.

There’s so many out there to choose from. We use Draytek, Netgear and Netcomm devices, all of them have models that can run in bridge mode, just make sure they’re NBN FTTN (VDSL) compatible, and you’ll likely need to update to the latest firmware. The Telstra device you had almost certainty had Telstra specific firmware on it, but it’s worth seeing if there are instructions on the internet on how to flash new firmware to it, I’ve done that to a few Optus devices in my time.

That sounds like a suitable workaround, but obviously not ideal if the MG21 is further away (dual cable runs). It also prevents the "MG to dual MX" HA option... so unfortunately the "dedicated VLAN on a PoE switch" seems like the best option.

If you used a MR76 at the office with a 5G sector antenna pointing to each amenity block and the 2.4 radio disabled another 74 or 76 at the office with the 5G radio disabled and ANT20s on the 2.4 G antenna ports a MR74 with a 5G sector antenna at each amenity block pointing back to the office and 2 omni ANT20s on the 2 remaining antenna ports for client service. you could use the 5G for backhaul and 2.4 for client service

Hello @SCC , As per the document https://documentation.meraki.com/MV/Initial_Configuration/MV_Cloud_Archive it seems that the Copies of video are stored on both the camera and in the cloud. On-camera recording does not change. So the same recording is stored locally and on cloud. It would not add up the days on stage retention. Let me know if any concerns

I don't think there's a "one fits all"-solution to that and also depend on the country you're residing in because of regulatory challanges. You'll find many sites that won't strictly be needed in the "Web file sharing" category though. Also, blocking Advertisements is a more commonly seen topic here. Please see those as suggestions. As said above: I don't think anybody will be able to give you a turn-key solution to your specific environment.

@SCC I am looking at this exact same path as well. Vivotek has some really nice features but requires good solid high end hardware to run the software. I love the Meraki concept however I always seem to have issues with playing back footage. Live viewing on Meraki works well however CCTV is mostly used to review past events. I currently use Nuuo which is not very good which is why I am looking at other vendors.

Yes New ssid and New vlan. Then create firewall rules that this vlan/subnet can not access your lan subnets. (Also possible using a group policy and attach it to the vlan.)

@SCC As I see it, the Hp device will be transparant .. so the MX port should act like a single voice device was attached (with exception of single MAC filter, since multiple MAC's will be comming in) So my input will be to go for Access config (in the correct VLAN), and remember that when leaving the MX, no QoS will be executed since the unmanaged HP device will not know how to queue.

Check out this tool. https://meraki.cisco.com/public/mv-site-survey/index.html The problem is the answer is not black and white. The larger the area covered the less detail you get. How much detail is required depends on what you are trying to achieve. For example, I often have cameras on the entrance and exit focusing on a very small area so I can get excellent facial photos. For the rest of the area, I might use a camera to cover a larger area because the only thing I want to see is a persons movement. You have vehicles - so you might be interested in being able to read number plates. You are going to need the camera focused on a very tight area to get that. Also, no matter how many cameras you put in, you'll find you could always have used more. Always.

Well, i am not saying the device was extremely hot. But to me it does not look normal. Therefore, I kept 1RU space between switches and MX84 and also made sure that there is a proper air flow in the rack.

If the port moves from a speed of 10mb to 1gb this more sounds like a active device is connected to it and pulling traffic.

From a security standpoint, I wouldn't recommend this. Buy a Z3 and use the AutoVPN is my recommendation.

I hear you but when we had a problem with location I got my usual case closed reply. Mist surveyed the site plan, advised where they would place AP's to achieve location below 2.0m and replaced the Meraki for mist. On 4 occasions we have had issues with the location. Our AP's where located as per the meraki standard and we aren't even within 20m in the raw data. Sent reports with data from our data scientists and they still responded with case closed. Mist can achieve it and its only an integration so you can offer customers both depending on needs. Could honestly say have had no support or engagement in almost three years of building and selling a retail platform built on Meraki

I can't say you can plug it into any LAN, because some places have far more restrictive firewalls than others, but typically, yes you can just plug it in and then connect to it.

@PhilipDAth Thank you for your response. Yes, you are right. I am from Australia. I will be using the Fiber to the Node connection which will be basically a VDSL2 type link from NBN. Thank you. i will use the standard NAT configuration while connecting this in front of MX.

@NolanHerring , "I can't seem to find anything about the built-in cellular options with the MX67C/68C models" The options are exactly the same. The AutoVPN failover when using USB (or built in) 4G failover is not dual active. But AutoVPN will 100% kick in over the 4G circuit once the primary circuit has failed.
