Hi Nealgs, For the life of me I can't get the script to work. I have made sure everything is good and even tested my URL links outside of the script and can get to them, but I keep getting a blank readout when trying to display and when I try to run change I get a 404 error ... View more

Have a look at this link.  this is what we now use instead of splunk for our environment.   EventLog Analyzer - SIEM Log management software. (manageengine.com)   Runs on a single server, 12 core, 96GB RAM which also runs our Rapid7 scanning tools too. ... View more

Re: Profile failed to install error

by GuyEP in Mobile Device Management

I just ran into this today on two new machines. I was seeing a 403 Forbidden error in Console when OS X was trying to request the provisioning profile during installation; then I'd get an ErrorCode:1 in the UI. I tried requesting the URL that appeared in the logs and ended up getting the log-in page for the self-service portal.   On a whim, I tried enabling authentication for enrollment (which, oddly enough, defaults to disabled on a fresh SM setup). You can find the setting under Systems Manager -> Configure -> General ("/manage/configure/system_settings") in your dashboard. After I did that, I tried downloading the enrollment profile again, got prompted for Meraki dashboard credentials, provided them, and then the profile that I downloaded installed fine.   Before trying the new MDM profile file, I tried the one I had downloaded from before I enabled authentication and it failed, but the one I downloaded after authenticating succeeded. I'm wondering if maybe SM has a bug where if you do not have authentication enabled when you download the MDM profile, it fails to authenticate properly. Perhaps the profile has a stale set of authentication credentials (resulting in the 403) but if you download one after authenticating it has refreshed credentials? Or something like that. Just conjecture; all I know is that things worked when I enabled authentication for enrollment. ... View more

Last night the rest of the MR18 were rolled-back. and I am already seeing major advantages with these access points on the older firmware. The connection log is showing a success rate of 79.9 %. of logging in. I push the Logs back over the last month and that connection rate drops down to success rate of 16.5%. I know the rate will only get better after I get an email together to send it out to the users with the Passwords for each SSID and department. I think that is some of my issues with the fail rate that I am seeing now.   Thank you for all the help and to have me reach out to support. Support has been amazing. I also hope this helps other with this issue, I know people are having it. I see the boards and no one ever has a solution, that is why I wanted to keep everyone up to date on what I found out. Wish everyone luck with this issue.   ... View more

We had a similar dilemma a couple of years or so ago when we began our migration to Meraki kit (so glad we did)   11 sites through-out europe ranging in size from 100 people to around 5 - plus host system at a data centre.   ended up with 2 MX84's for sites with 70 + users and rest went with MX64 and one Mx65 for site that was going to have dual circuits (but didn't in the end - doh! )   It's best to go have to much than not enough as you end up buying twice otherwise.         ...
