I would speak to your account manager and seek a replacement model, using beta firmware should not be a suggestion for in production networks.

@CarolineS I think if the community was mentioned on the order confirmation emails that might work. Also if account managers mention it to new customers as well.

Meraki sensors with the exception of the MT40 are just sensors and not controllers, you can push their data our via MQTT which you can then use to do wonderful things but those wonderful things require non Meraki hardware. https://documentation.meraki.com/MT/MT_General_Articles/MT_MQTT_Setup_Guide

Thanks for sharing, I'm hoping that you aren't running Beta firmware in a production environment as bugs are to be expected in Beta firmware.

@Conrad13 I thought it was worth mentioning that the reason you have to claim and unclaimed devices is to stop device theft. Now it won't stop someone physically taking the hardware but it at least stop them from using it. If your friend can un-claim the device from their Org as has been mentioned then you should be able to claim it in your however you will need to purchase a license for the access point as all devices need to be licensed to work. Meraki isn't consumer grade hardware so requires a license

Meraki doesn't offer a migration service like some other vendors do, I suspect the reason is MX are quite a bit different in the way they are managed compared to other brands. My suggestion would be to plan the migration out in stages i.e. research/planning/ initial config/ changeover/tidy up/ debrief. This thigns always involve downtime but this can be reduced with good planning and execution.

Really? I have never seen it on any of my Orgs when adding MR, I just double checked as I added one within the last month and there is no recently added tag.

Hang on I just re-read your post and saw that you meant WAP, sorry I assumed you meant MDM devices. Hmm I have never seen the recently-added tag on a WAP before, I don't believe you can set default tags on MR or MS devices.

@bradly this is a default tag that Systems manager applies to newly enrolled devices, it's meant to help admins quickly identify devices that have just been enrolled. The idea is you remove the tag from devices once you have configured them. You can disable it or change the tag you want to use by going to Systems Manager > Configure > General

@LauraL others have mentioned issues with MFA I suspect there are issue with SMS, I would suggest once you can get back in to use OTP rather than SMS which can have delivery issues but also more susceptible to MITM attack.

I assumed this as well unless OP ordered hardware only but I doubt that. @ShawJC If you haven't added the order number into your inventory you could manually add each AP's into your inventory via it's serial number and then add the license code when you are ready to go into production. I would also suggest if you are not sure about cabling to get a professional site survey done.

I shall give this a go although since the introduction of the "new" pages I've seen all sorts of weird issues. Viewing MV streams on the iOS app is also very hit and miss now.

Thats quite a distance between the buildings, I think even if you put an access point in building B using mesh it will still struggle to get a decent signal.

Ok just so I am clear, building A has the MR76 installed, you can get signal inside and outside of building A. Building B is where you want signal but as soon as you are inside building B you have nothing Some questions 1. Is the MR76 installed on the exterior or interior of building A? 2. What is the distance between the two buildings? 3. Are there any windows in building B? 4. What is the approximate age of building?

The protective cover caught me out, I had contractors install an outdoor MV, tested after install that all was well and it wasn't until footage was reviewed after a night time incident that it was noticed. The cover got dirt in behind it and had moved slightly that the IR created a halo effect. The same contractor came to look at the issue and was very embarrassed.

The only way I was able to get an RTSP live feed working with any software was by using Home assistant and setting up RTSP devices but be aware that MV devices only allow 2 simultaneous RTSP streams.

A 3D printer might be your best bet in this case or install the camera using the mounting bracket. I agree for the price that MV cameras are not great at night in bad weather, I've had no end of problems with motion alerts and rain drop. I've spent hours fine tuning sensitivity settings and duration to try and find that sweet spot. Disabling IR and relying on other artificial light has been the best solution I've come up with.
