Sounds like partner doesn't understand or is trying to pull a quick one on you. I have MT's using the free licenses and have not had any issue. I simply tell my supplier at the time of order if i need licensing or not as swapping out MR's for newer models often doesn't need a license as it will use the existing license.

I would talk to support. How did you not realise it was expired for 3 years as the device shouldn't have been operating and the dashboard would have been lighting up like a Christmas tree.

I wouldn't consider systems manager an RMM it's more of an MDM and it's currently more geared towards MacOS and iOS devices however Windows features are often being added in.

Are you using a package installer? If the installer requires manually entering any information during the installation then it will fail.

Can I just say a quick thank you to the SM devs that have added the ability to remove unused enrolment profiles. I remember I asked about this 5-6 years ago and was told it wasn't possible but I've just discovered it and it now means I can have a clean out! Thank you 👍

I have a 1990 BF3 Legacy and a 2005 BL 3.0r Spec B. The BF3 is going to be sold soon and the BL is the wifes daily driver. I got old and now drive a BMW F11 😂
