Sensitivity to Motion Alerts is too high, detecting snow fall and getting 200+ emails every night.

I have outdoor cameras MV71's that when it snows are detecting it as a motion and sending and email. Emails are roughly 200+ every night that it snows.

What has been attempted:

  • configure an area of interest
  • change the minimum event duration for trigger to the max (3 seconds)
  • focused the configured area of interest.

However, the issue is still occurring. Any suggestions?

Disable notifications for specific hour range might be what your looking for.

Yeah however that won't work if it snows all day. The issue is that the Meraki Cameras are picking up snowfall as motion and sending an email alert, each time it snows heavily.

Not sure there is anything to be done about that. I know you don't want it to, but those snow flakes are going to get triggered.
