This expands our market access to help you manage and monitor IOS XE supported switches and wireless LAN controllers in the cloud, while meeting data residency and regional compliance needs.
What’s new?
Catalyst Switching: Cloud Management with IOS XE
Now available in Meraki India, China, and Canada regions, Cloud Management with IOS XE offers flexibility to choose the configuration source for your Cisco Catalyst switches in two modes: cloud or device.
1. Cloud Configuration Mode
- Supported versions: iOS XE 17.15.4.1 and 17.18.2
- Enables you to use the Meraki dashboard and Meraki APIs to configure your switches
- See supported Catalyst switching models
2. Device Configuration Mode
- Onboard devices in device config mode starting from IOS XE 17.15.3 and above
- Enables you to configure your switch locally via CLI or other tools, in addition to managing your switches in the Meraki dashboard

🔔 Note: For the Meraki China Region, all capabilities align to our standard Meraki cloud dashboard experience with the exception of Intelligent Capture as well Packet Capture (PCAP) for switches running IOS XE versions.
Catalyst Wireless: Cloud Monitoring with IOS XE
Cloud Monitoring for Catalyst 9800 wireless controllers is now supported in the Meraki India and Canada regions starting with IOS XE version 17.18.2.
This lets you monitor your Catalyst wireless environments from the Meraki dashboard, while configuration and management continue to be handled on the wireless controllers themselves.
🔔 Note: Cloud Monitoring for Wireless is not yet supported in the Meraki China Region.

Availability
As of February 19, the following is supported:
- Cloud Management with IOS XE for Cisco Catalyst switches in the Meraki India Region, Meraki China Region, and Meraki Canada Region.
- Cloud Monitoring with IOS XE for Cisco Catalyst 9800 wireless controllers in the Meraki India Region and Meraki Canada Region.
