Yes device is fast ethernet, I have changed the device to use 100Mbps full duplex instead of auto. I've checked for EEE settings on the device and there are none that are user configurable. I'll try using another switch when I get a chance. Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

We have a label printer that is plugged into the LAN in our reception which is used for printing ID tags for visitors. The port on the switch which its plugged into is reporting a high proportion of CRC errors, if repalced the patch leads at both ends, tried a different port in the switch and had the cable tested and I can't fault anything. What should my next step be, the device doesn't used often and we have never had a problem with it not working so even if I can turn off CRC reporting on this port would be handy. Thanks in advance.

The MX67C means that for countries other than the US and Canada its not guess work to find out if your USB modem will work or not. Yes there is the documentatoin page that lists the support models but most of those are not available outside of said country.

@SCC your Sophos firewall should support you setting up one of its interfaces as a tagged interface.

@SCC yes its not best practice to have security devices on you main LAN however it will work. The only way to view footage from a Meraki camera is through the dashboard so its not as though someone can hack the camera and view its footage. If you have an MX you could setup another VLAN and have that routing through your MX, that would be more secure.

MX devices have two types of licensing, Enterprise or Advanced security. MS Switches on require a dashboard license Licensing comes in 1, 3 or 5 year options. Sometimes Meraki do have specials where they will give you an extra year for free and it usually works out cheaper if you be a longer license as well.

I have factory reset and still doesn't work. I can ping from another switch which is odd and status page works if I am on that VLAN. I have triple checked the VLAN tagging on the uplink siwthc and have had a co-worker check it as well. The switch is also only happy if I use 8.8.8.8 for the DNS even though the other switches are happy if I use are internal DNS....

I have the feeling this is a DOA, the dashboard is seeing this switch correctly however its listing clients on port 43...... It's only an 8 Port switch.

Hi have two small MS120-8 switches setup with management on VLAN2 IP addresses are 192.168.2.2 and 192.168.2.3 respectively gateway and DNS for both are identical. Now I can ping 192.168.2.3 but I cannot ping 192.168.2.2 Firewall rules between my subnet and the management VLAN are not the problem I have double checked that. Duplicate IP's are not the issue as I have turned off the switch to see if another device replies and I have checked my dashboard. The uplink switch is also configured to allow all VLAN traffic i.e. trunk with native VLAN1 and allowing all. I am about to run a packet capture but just thought I would check to see if I am missing something simple. Thanks!

@kami Cost depends on what you need exactly. Yes I am happy to pay the higher costs for Meraki for the benefits of cloud based administratoin BUT also the level of network information it provides without any configuration what so ever. Yes there is monitoring software available but often you need a degree in physics and the starts aligned to configure it properly which takes hours. Plus because I am an Apple fan boy and looks do matter you cant go past Meraki's brushed aluminium hardware! At the end of the day Meraki gear is a good all rounder but they do have their limitations as does most equipment on the market. You need to pick what meets your requirements.

@kami Working together really depends on your exisiting networks configuration and what services i.e. VPN you use. Meraki is certainly a excellent option if you are having to remotely support the new office but without knowing more about your exisiting setup I cant answer much more than that.

@BCastillo that is odd, AFAIK this isn't something you should need to setup it should populate this information automatically. I have checked all of my devices and they are reporting as I would expect so you might need to open a support case.
