Just want to pass this along i followed the link within the Mobil app for purchasing the optional gx-20/gx-50 security subscription. the path took me to a website call Rhino tried to buy the key using a visa/debit and it didn’t go thru. Tried again with a master card and it didn’t go thru. Finally tried with a pure visa and it went thru. I put in a ticket on their site and they indicate it’s a known issue with their 3rd party payments clearing house and they have an open ticket . so if you try to buy this at rhino , use a pure visa and not a debit/visa or a master card. cheers

No I am referring to the isp uplink speed. if you had a wireless router that had a 5g uplink speed, you could just create multiple wifi networks. with the Meraki go hardware all of your wifi networks would have to share 1gb theoretical isp bandwidth but in practically the bandwidth is 800mb wired, 600mb thru the AP’s if not meshed and 300mb thru the APs if meshed.

Also they may be able to get $30 high speed Ethernet on their own. im pay 30 for 1g from T-Mobile using their internet gateway device. and that comes with roadside assistance for free apple TV interface 2gb cloud storage and some other stuff.

I don’t think the Meraki go platform would make the ma. Use of the 5g ISP bandwidth.

you are part of a subset being asked to change your passord , go to meraki go website I go to the meraki go website and I get forced into "send you a password reset link", which never comes. so...now i cant access my devices cant do a support ticket since I cant login in. marvelous.

Ok will have to check into that. last month my main isp Went up and down a few times. my saving grace was that endpoints had my alternate wifi network info so end points switched over automatically. But it wasn’t going thru the Meraki go hardware. will try this over the next few days.

I dont see anything in the FW xonfig for port two given the option of using as an internet port????? what FW firmware version? was this done via mobile device software or internet web sodtware? thanks

yes meshed i suspect if unmeshed, thru out from APs would be higher.

I speed tested my gx50 from ports on the gx50, ports on the 1sst switch, devices connected to APs. from physical ports I got 800mb. from APs I got 300mb.

it sounds like you are saying since your iphone app has demonstrated it can remove and add an AP, you want to do the gx50 using your local apps as well (iphone app or wha ever). up to you...but there is a difference with removing/adding a switch or AP than a gateway....once you remove your gateway...all your devices are off line. and yes...if you do not want to use https://web.meraki-go.com/#login , then yes....someone else will have to get involved and make the changes for you.

Use the cloud software https://web.meraki-go.com/#login log in and make sure your gx20 is deleted in the cloud software. as soon as you delete the gx20, all your devices will show off line. So you will need another way to temporarily manage your Meraki go network with the cloud software. the local software will eventually sync up.

Yes, the delete button on the device in the cloud device list. as soon as that sync’s, your entire device list will show as off line until the gx50 is installed.

When I upgraded from gx20 to gx50 i removed the gx20 in both the cloud app and the iPhone app. waited 5 minutes then did a normal gx50 add. once I did that , I had a gx50 error until the new fox 50 synced up. took about 15 minutes for the cloud app and iPhone app to sync up.

Also what is ip’s of the first good router what is the ips of the second good router what is the ips of the Meraki go dhcp? what is the carrier ip address of the iPhone service provider is the carrier up address network the same ip of the Meraki go dhcp.

I aksed this question a few weeks ago . I had a GX20 , bought a GX50, and wanted to give the GX20 to my son who lives elsewhere. The answer I got was to remove the GX20 from my email address account and add it to a new email address account that represents the new location. I have not tried it yet....I dont see why this would not work in your case.

since you mentioned 2.5ghz vs 5ghz items....you can try "dual band operaton with band steering" instead of selecting 2.5ghz or 5ghz. to do that select the wireless network select settings select advnaced settings select radio settings select "dual band operaton with band steering" instead of selecting 2.5ghz or 5ghz.

This means there is about 15% bandwidth cost penalty using the gx50. Which is expected on this type of firewall.
