The other issue with doing this is that it's not uncommon for a device to go out of compliance for reasons that are out of a users control. We've been looking into this one and we're not sure how viable it really is. But sure it might work for the majority.

Just got caught out in losing a load of changes in our dashboard. For example I alter our VLAN scheme on our MX. I click Update and I'm returned to the Addressing and VLAN page. The dialogue for the page says "You have unsaved changes" > I click Save The page updates and the dialogue reappears. I cannot make changes to my addressing and VLANS. It seems to be just this page. I've enabled third party cookies - I've switched off anything ad or script blocking. I've tried in: Firefox, Edge and Chrome. What do I need to do??

I'll tell you this. It's a weird one. Came back to the cabinet. Plugged in the cables and prepared to do some troubleshooting and ... this time it worked. Same cables, same laptop, same RJ45 into the switch. SAME EVERYTHING. And this time it worked. Going to chalk this up to "one of those things"

lol. Great to hear they're supposedly doing something about this.... One of the reasons I don't often sign in here and there's got to be a good reason to go to the dash is because I like being able to see something other than the meraki dashboard later on in the day.

This is all I'm seeing on the switch sfp port just now. There's also a DOM warning but I think that's because the cable isn't plugged in. From what I can tell this should also be compatible with the SFP port on our MX85. When I check the MX I'm not seeing anything in either SFP port to tell me there's a module plugged in and I can't remember how it's been left.. Maybe the issue is there. It'll have to wait now until I can get access to the comms cabs.

The fibre is OM4 bought in the same batch as others used in patching in our MX (so using the same SFP modules). This is a new office and we're finding it difficult to get access to comms and distribution cabs ahead of time but I'll talk to management. Already tried swapping around the different modules and SFP ports. and also plugging in to different ports in different switches. I'll report back with more details once I get in.

We've got 2 MS250-48LP that are currently stacked. These need to patch to a fibre panel. We've plugged in a Meraki SFP module into front ports but we don't get any signal . I've been reading the docs and I don't see anything that says if the stacking cables are in use then we can't use the fibre ports on the front. But maybe I've missed something?

I solved this issue by moving everything into a new dashboard. Spoke to the resellers/cisco support and we ended up re-licensing everything we retained. Was a bit of a waste of my time. But it seemed to be the simplest solution.

That's the question. HOW do I do that I do that using this splash page? I've been looking around and it seems I would need to deploy a local radius server and use access manager. But 1. Access Manager is in preview and 2. it is VERY clear cisco plan to charge for it.

I'm looking at this for example. what I want is for my users to be able to bring their laptop into the office, and find themselves connected without too much effort. I have all this nifty conditional access policy and MFA capability but there doesn't seem to be a straightforward way to implement it, to control who gets access to my wifi network. I've been playing with the entra id splash page login. This is good as it means we can offload a certain amount of our security to a process we and our already already use. And we wouldn't need to push a wifi profile with a set password. I've noticed a limitation and I can't decide on the best way forward - users can sign up personal devices without issue. We would like to bar users from signing in with their own devices (ie personal laptops, mobile phones) and I can't see a way to do this. Users should use a separate guest network for personal devices. From Meraki we have: MR enterprise licensing and an MX (plus switching) but we're not using SM. From Microsoft we have Office 365 E5 with mobility and security Entra ID P2 licenses. In other words I have Intune, Full Entra with Conditional access. I'm just wondering what others have done. Did you use a Conditional Access policy? And if so how did you set that up?

According to cisco support a complete mess has been made. I was assured that the licenses wouldn't have an impact on co-termination dates but this turns out to be untrue - at least that's what support tell me. There's some soft of unholy mix up between my reseller and cisco going on - with me looking on being told quite a complex story about how licensing is going to work and [essentially] taking flak from senior management because of it.

Hi Ryan, Sorry I thought I'd posted this on Monday - must have forgotten to press reply. This is our current license count At the time of our last license purchase we were using a different firewall. So that is new to the license load. 8 out of our 9 MRs are being returned & retired - swapped out for much newer wifi7 models. The new license we've been sold is: 4x MR - for 3 years 1xMX85 1xMX advanced We're reusing 2x swtiches from our existing network. Our existing MR licenses will terminate Feb 2026. So what happens to the co-termination? The last license end date is as follows:

Hey Guys, I've never got my head around license co-termination. I've received some new devices for a new network. We move one of our offices to a new site in about 2 weeks. We will be using some of the devices on the original site in the new, we will be deploying some new gear (some new APs and a new firewall) and Cisco have asked for for the old APs to be returned. How is co-termination handled in this situation? I have the license keys for the new gear and my understanding is that if I add the new APs to my inventory they APs were about to return will be included in the license termination. I don't want to license the devices that I'm returning at all, nor do I want them to have an affect on the new devices. Yours confused etc...
