Switch Clone

We are currently using the Meraki MS120-8P switch and planning to upgrade to the MS130-12X model.

Can we clone the configuration from the MS120-8P to the MS130-12X, even though they are different models? Will the configuration transfer work as expected, or are there any limitations we should be aware of?

Thank You!

Cloning should work ok - difference being # of ports, PoE budget (total) differences, SFP+, MS130 has a few more added features and mGig whereas the MS120 doesn't.  Because the MS130 has additional ports than the MS120 the MS130 additional ports are likely to be set with default settings since the MS120 doesn't have these additional ports.

Would be best to verify (manually review) all ports prior to the clone and after.

Switch cloning requires source & destination models be the same with the exception of the 210/225/250 models.

You will need to manually configure the 12X in this case.
