MR78 outdoor wireless backhaul

Could I use a two MR78 APs as a wireless outdoor backhaul. I have a light pole with 120V power and It has and Axis camera. I can provide 120V for power injectors for the Axis camera and MR78.  Several years ago I used NanoStation M2 for wireless backhaul.

See below, it is possible, but there are limitations vs the Nano. My company only uses Ubiquiti bridges because of these limitations, but for just a single camera or similar Meraki may be easier.

Technically yes, it just ensures that there are no obstacles that could cause any signal blockage.

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

The Meraki issue is decent multiple vlan support over the wireless backhaul.  If you only have a few devices that are all on the same VLAN then sure you can use it.

If you want complete transport you could look at Cisco industrial portfolio with CURWB which is a real low latency method using the same frequencies.

We do support multiple VLANs over mesh. You just need Support to enable it. It works great. I’ve used it many times as have many customers.

Happy to answer any additional questions around the configuration or ways to accomplish usage of it.

There really should be a documentation of all these "can be enabled by support" gems.

Knowing of this option enables some new opportunities for me.
