Beam clamps and threaded rod to a double gang box. You don't want the AP's too high if possible, so the threaded rod can let you put them at a height closer to the clients.

Am I last to find out that Meraki Go switches run the same firmware as "regular" Meraki? Now I wonder about the Go GX firewall and GR wireless..

Do you mean someone physically unplugging the AP and plugging in their own device? It would depend entirely on the switch you are using, but practically I would say no. You might find a way to use only tagged VLANs and black hole the native/default VLAN or not use DHCP as basic deterrents though. Maybe best to go for physical security like using conduit and mounting height to prevent access?

I just checked 5 clients I have using Go switches and they are all 14.32 or 14.33. Are they safe?

I only have a few clients and don't think I have had this issue yet, but can you please clarify if I am understanding correctly that even switches never been claimed may still try to upgrade themselves?

Kind of a wild guess, but I saw similar with a new customer recently that has Meraki. They had 8 MR's in an open office area that were about 30-50' away from each other. They had inconsistent performance and poor Zoom calls quite often. It was kind of obvious to me there was probably co-channel interference, but I verified it with a spectrum analyzer and turned the power down on all MR's to the minimum and haven't heard a complaint since. I also turned off most of the 2.4GHz radios for good measure. All that to say, maybe co-channel interference if you have too many MR's near each other with power set to auto or too high?

Some conflict presumably, but I agree it seems like incorrect behavior. There is a post about this, with some links to more information here too: https://community.meraki.com/t5/Dashboard-Administration/Z3C-Disabled-gateway-bad-connectivity/m-p/130002 I'll be curious to hear what you discover. Good luck.

Have you tried swapping connections and see if the trouble follows the ISP side or Meraki side?

It depends on the product and the day. Your reseller should be able to easily check anytime you ask. If you don’t have a reseller send me a message with a product list and I can check for you.

Maybe the same reason @cmr suspected in a post above? Maybe the device was "sleeping"/inactive at the moment showing in the screenshot and it would be normal behavior. It does seem the device was on the move between at least 3 APs. Or did the specific client report some trouble and is that an example capturing the trouble moment?

It sounds like the SSID is not in bridged mode. You need that for external (from the AP) DHCP to function with clients.

I actually don't agree with all three points you wrote. I have customers that have or had MPLS over DSL. MPLS doesn't care what transport it goes over. There is no particular reason you can't manage and monitor your MPLS unless the provider refuses portal access and features. MPLS does not imply all traffic goes through HQ, it can be configured as mesh topology too. Besides that, I would think the main considerations are the same as just about anything in networking and technology- Save money and improve reliability (assuming 2 or more WAN connections) Maybe improved bandwidth as well.

I’m not sure, but I remembered I saved this post and it may be helpful: https://community.meraki.com/t5/Wireless-LAN/Meraki-Supported-Antenna-Chart/m-p/128264#M17956

I just had an idea actually. Make a rule specifically allowing that IP and point it to a "black hole" like an IP address in a VLAN that goes nowhere and has access to nothing. If you can move the rule to the top of the list it may (should?) trigger first and have the effect of blocking.

I don't think there is a way to block a specific address or subnet in a NAT rule. You could drop them in the web server though, right? And I guess you could put something upstream with ACL's to block specific IP addresses. Do you have advanced security license? You maybe able to do something there. I have a similar situation with a FTPS server I maintain to send customer backups to. It uses port 22 and gets hammered all day, every day. I configured my server to block specific addresses and it also has a feature to auto block multiple failed attempts.

I'm pretty sure I just replied to your Reddit post 😉 You don't need to do anything. External IP addresses cannot reach any internal resources unless you explicitly allow it with firewall rule/port forward.

If it is claimed in your account and you factory reset it I would expect it to come back up with the password you have in your dashboard. Have you tried?

It does seem to be there, but strangely with my Cisco login I can't access it without special request. @Netsup I would try going to https://trustportal.cisco.com and search Meraki and then request access to SOC2 document.

They may not for Meraki. If they did, I would expect it here: https://meraki.cisco.com/trust/#privacy Maybe the bit about MDPA meets your needs?

I agree with @KarstenI but if you *really* had to or really want to for some reason, you would choose outdoor units with external antenna ports and then suitable third party antennas designed for your distance requirements. Honesty though you can buy a pair of radios that could do that for just a few hundred USD and set them up and forget about them.

Thanks @PhilipDAth that makes sense for MR. I think MX and MS if they sell you the license they will cover the hardware with it though, right? I know some licenses are labeled EOS but can still be purchased making me think if the MX or MS failed Meraki would replace with same or similar.

I doubt anyone in these forums including employees will be able to tell you why. I also don't think there is any law or regulation requiring Cisco to support anything for any specific length of time. That said, consider the difference between end of sale, end of life and end of support. End of support typically goes much longer and I think you can find Meraki devices still supported after 10 or more years. As long as you can purchase a license it is supported, but if the hardware fails it may be subject to being replaced by a different device if the original device is no longer available or being made. Best.
