Am I the only confused here? What does a one day license have to do with any of this? And where does the Meraki support reply mention anything about a one day license? @Greenberet Why don't you just take the free auto renewal?

If you have 12 or less Meraki devices in the organization then it is renewed for free. A one day license only works for one day so if you want to use it longer you will need the appropriate license term. any devices over 12 you can buy via NFR discount.

Well, everything is denied inbound by default. You just open up port forwarding or static NAT when/if needed. What specifically are you wanting to do?

Power will be fine, but 8 MR's on an 8 port switch means you need to use one of the SFP ports for uplink.

Yes you can. You are forced to assign an IP but do not have to use it or enable DHCP on the VLAN. If I understand correctly you might want to just make a new VLAN and then assign it to a couple of ports set to access mode. You could create a 2 or 3 port switch this way with nothing routing through the MX assuming you don’t route anything to the VLAN IP.

I don’t think it matters. I do this from the client page most often because it seems easier. I have always seen the reservations show up in the DHCP settings later. I think you will too, but it may take a few minutes?

I know it might be a hassle, but if you could get a packet capture inline to see what the switch is doing it would probably help and reveal the problem to you or support. I think you need to use a tap/hub,etc though because I recall you can't capture some/all Meraki management traffic with an MX.

I would try setting the SSID to bridged mode. I would not expect a Chromecast to work under the default NAT with DHCP setting. That is intended for guest networks where you don't want clients to communicate with each other.

Those are wireless (MR) settings you are referring to, not firewall (MX) settings. What Meraki gear do you have?

OK, I think you were asking more specifically why your beta firmware is continuing to update when you turned it off somewhere. That may be a bug or 'as designed' and I would check with support. I could imagine that if you are already on beta then Meraki assumes you want to be notified and scheduled for continued beta updates..

You could probably leverage Zapier to scan an inbox for specific messages and send you alerts like this. Also you could send logs to another monitoring package that has the alert feature you want. Good luck.

I don't think the MR53 uses link aggregation like you are thinking of.
