This is accurate. There is no IP Stack on the MT sensors so the only way the communicate to the dashboard is through the gateway they connect to (MV or MR). The ethernet option is STRICTLY and only PoE today.

Without going to each camera in your dashbard individually, your best option is doing the API like mlefebvre suggested with that many cameras. I would highly recommend maybe using TAGS on the cameras that have it because you are right, there is no way currently to show a list of cameras with MV Sense (or even MQTT) enabled in dashboard today. Hoping we can do something in the Camera List View where you currently can filter on MV Cloud Archive and which cameras have it enabled or not to atleast give some sort of filtering view. I have brought this up with the product team.

Yes there is a difference @EricWenger . MV has the possibility of having up from 1 to 3 licenses depending on your needs. 1. MV License in general is required for management, viewing, support, warranty, and all the things really to get you going. MV Cloud Archive - OPTIONAL - and is there if you wish to store video in the cloud. https://documentation.meraki.com/MV/Initial_Configuration/MV_Cloud_Archive 3. That hasn't really come up because the MT requires a 'gateway' to get back to the dashboard for communications. There are no IP stacks built into MT so it uses it's encrypted connecttion to the gateway and then the gateway handles all connectivity to the dashboard. I would recommend buying a less expensive access point (disabling all SSID radios and JUST have it be for the MT) or use less expensive cameras to handle this if you really only require MT to be accessible for readings at this point. Will pass this use cas along because thinking outside of the box as to other ways for MT to connect probably isn't just beneficial to you. MT only admins are in the works but we are still working out the details before we can announce a launch for something like this.

So sensors require to be put in the same network as the gateway which would be either MR or MV. As of right now, we do not have a way to do finite admin permissions for Sensors only like we do for Cameras. This is something we have been working on for awhile but because fo the administration hierarchy in Dashboard, it is extremely challenging to strip this down. Your options today would be to give the user READ-ONLY Network access or put the Sensors and the gateways in a different network with READ-ONLY Network access. Wish I could provide a time table for Sensor based Admin privileges but at this time we do not have one yet.

Depending on the scenario, I would look at the MV93 (new and 3rd Generation) as it has much better resolution than the MV32 (2nd Generation). Check the datasheet out here. The other big thing in my eyes is that the MV93 has IR illuminators so it can go monochrome (night mode) and be able to see in very low light areas and at night. The MV32 doesn't have this capability for nightmode. The MV93 also is IP67 and IK10+ rated so you could use it outdoors as well.

Usually this is something that is handled by adjusting shutterspeed settings so if you check out the MV52, we have released a feature that allows you to manually set the shutterspeed. Check the link out below. In most dome camera use cases they are set primarily around wide areas to get a general sense of what is happening in a big Field of View. Answering to the question above, the MT14 can do temperature, humidity, ambient sound, TVOC and Particulate Matter. Those are the sensors onboard. As far as detecting things like excess Hydrogen or Lithium Ion, not directly it would not. However this could fall in the realm of organic compounds as household cleaners and gasoline could make the floor level of detection increase. All of this is extremely variable. I would personally find a specific type of reader/sensor that can specifically read excess Hydrogen or Lithium Ion to confirm. We don't detect (and most do not) specific types of volatile organic compounds but instead detect the presence of it if that makes sense.

They can be found just about anywhere. Amazon sells them. If you use or buy through cabling or electrical companies such as Accutech, Graybar, etc, will gladly sell you them. You can also find them at Bestbuy/Walmart/Target stores (tho limited). Just shop around for pricing. I would keep the cabling type consistent if you can to avoid inconsistencies. If you have Cat5E cabling, get the Cat5E patch cable. If you have Cat6 cabling, get the Cat6 patch cable. Stuff like that. If you are unsure what you have, check the back of your wiring closet patch panels and look on the sheath of the cabling as it is terminated and it will tell you the type on there. It isn't the end of the world if they do not match as I have not seen issues while working on the field but I seem to always like to keep thigns consistent.

You will want cables WITHOUT BOOTS to be the most effective honestly. Cables with boots has some advantages but ultimately it makes the cable less flexible especially in smaller tight spaces (like you see in the back of a MV21) and has extra plastics/rubbers to help 'protect' the 8 strands in a Cat5/6/7 cable. Here is a picture of what I mean when I say NO BOOTS.

Yea, and understable on the confusion. The first batch was ordered as green as we were trying to get replacements out ASAP and green was the first color we could get out to our customers first. Moving forward, all cables will be white.

Basically we are evaluating what makes sense to maintain and update on an ongoing basis. As of right now, we recommend people use the IPVM tool (https://calculator.ipvm.com/) or System. Surveyor (https://systemsurveyor.com/free-trial) as they regular update these tools. Full disclosure there will be limitations to both unless you have accounts so fair warning. Having a 'go to' tool for planning and design is something we know people desire and is top of mind on how we make this happen so please stay tuned.
