Same here, this is their response to my ticket. I'll be trying this shortly. "Can you take a LAN interface on the MX to see if the MX is sending TCP packets with RST packets to interrupt the replication? " During the call the also asked if I'd try moving backups to port 443 which my Sys Admin is looking into. If it works I'll let you know. Right now no matter what security lever I set it at it causes the replication to crap out.

I'm running V17.10.1, but they are asking me this. They are thinking if we use port 443 it might correct the issue because the traffic is encrypted, but I'm not sure on that one. I have my Sys admin looking into getting new certs on the servers today. Read Only Friday last week and all. Looks like I'll need to see it fail in order to get some pcap's again. Their response below. The worst part is there is no security center logs to help troubleshoot. If it is a SNORT rule then it's simply unacceptable that it's not being logged. I have an issue where ID&P breaks out Hyper-V replication. If it's in detection it works fine, but flip it to prevention and it dies. It's been very hit and miss in the past so we've switched to detection, but the last month or so it's run well on prevention. It's set for security, but even set to balanced it still randomly happens. I'll watch it replicate fine and then fail out of nowhere. We are replicating between a MX67C and MX100 Firmware 17.10.2, but both were upgraded at least a week prior to it starting up again. Right now we replicate over port 80 and support has us moving it to port 443 thinking the encryption of traffic might keep it from being flagged. The Security Center logs also don't show the reason for the replication being blocked. I had 3 hits yesterday and the day before and whitelisted those. It's still failing with no new flagged events in the logs. Has anyone else seen this?

Morning Fellow Meraki Users, I have a small issue with the client VPN my sys admin has asked me to check on. We use PDQ to push updates and installs and we can't seem to get it to work on the Client VPN. The best we can tell it's largely because it's not in the DNS. I can scan the machine down on the network with PDQ but it never allows us to push updates. Does anyone know how to get the Client VPN to request DHCP or place the computer in the DNS?

I'm scared to mention it because I don't want to jinx it. My network has been running pretty smooth the last months with most issues being the result of endpoints going out like phones. With 22 locations plus remote workers I've been pretty fortunate.

I'm going to look into Network Objects more, but mainly I'm trying to reduce the number of items I have to deal with. I have such a broad list of things that I'd like to cut them down so I can focus on the things that matter as opposed to a little of this and that.

Mines just a Dell r620 so it's nothing special really. Because it's a single U the coolers are just hunks of aluminum around a copper plate. It has a line of those little hot swappable fans so it's not to bad I don't guess singe the airflow is over the heatsink still. Makes it hard to upgrade them though. Wouldn't normally need to in a home lab setup until Folding came along lol.

@cmr You might catch me, or you might not. I used to have a few mining rigs running, but sold them off before the crash in 2018. Funny thing is that after running them for over a year I parted them out for a profit lol. Anyhow I still had a lot of the parts left over like Power Supplies, a Motherboard and such. I pulled it out and took an inventory and decided to build a folding machine. Folding is more intensive than mining since the CPU does a lot more work, but we'll see how it runs. Part of the fun is tinkering and trying to beat your old score after all 🙂 Once my RAM gets in today (I hope) maybe we will see that gap widen. Nothing wrong with a little competition even if we can't beat the current leader. What server do you Fold on if I may ask. I have one I spun up but it was hitting it's thermal throttle limits. I pulled the coolers off and redid the paste since I'm sure it was the original, but not spun it up again. Wasn't sure it was worth the power consumption.

I agree with @cmr on this, I'm actually hoping to see this folded into the Folding@Home if possible. I see no reason it couldn't be as long as it's not built on proprietary software or requires some sort of ASIC equipment. I've not gone far enough down the rabbit hole one this one though.

@JanVincent I have a i9-9900k and the amount of power and thermals it kicks out is quite high, especially when you take into account the score of the 2. One might net 50k while the other 3M. If I had a had the ability to push it org wide then the effect would be multiplied, but as it's just my home machine I'm not seeing a large benefit. I'm teetering close to thermal throttling on some of my cores so I ordered some new Thermal paste, it's possible it's just poorly applied or I used a old tube I don't remember lol. Mostly I'm wondering if there are specific work units needed to be done using the CPU for some odd reason or if it's just a way for them to run smaller jobs and allow more people the opportunity to buy in on the program.

Out of curiosity does anyone fold using their CPU? Score wise it's very little and it runs so hot it didn't seem to be worth it really. I tried running it in light and medium, but the best I could tell is it just ran on fewer cores not low power. I ordered some better paste since I was getting those thermals it couldn't hurt and might try again once I have it applied. Just wondering what everyone else's opinion was. Tried running it on my home server with the same results unfortunately. Not really designed for this application but likely it has the same thermal paste from factory 6 or 7 years ago.

You can place anything in the VPN including public IP's. I route my LAN IP's, but I add in the Microsoft IP's as well so they go through the VPN back to home office. Anything added to the list will be sent back over the VPN then to it's destination. @KarstenI I was thinking 24 as well because I've had a few cases where I think the device is not wanting to released it's current AP for a better one. I'm just not sure if 24 is high enough for our environment. When the bitrate drops before the minimum and there is no better AP does the AP cut their connection or just wait for the client to move on for example? Is the AP prompting the client to move on or is the AP just cutting them off when it drops below the limit?
