Is there a way to split the VPN tunnel using the native Windows 10 client? I don't want to back haul everything to home office and saturate our pipe more so than it already is. If not possible or east to do for the average user what alternatives would work?

As we are all aware the world has lost it's collective mind and once again I.T. rides to the rescue lol. I have CUCM Version 11.5 and I need to know if I can setup a Meraki MX in place of a Cisco ASA to enable the VPN on the phones. Given the requirements I do not believe it is possible, but I only have Meraki MX's in our environment. I'm left with this Hail Mary or trying to overnight an ASA. Cisco IP Phone supported Models - 79xx / 89xx CUCM 8.0.1 or later Cisco ASA IOS 8.0.4 or later AnyConnect VPN Pkg 2.4.1012 AnyConnect premium license and AnyConnect for Cisco VPN Phone license

I have an issue where I'm needing to apply group policies to devices as they appear on each of our 20 networks. I have 20 sites therefore 20 networks and as people travel from site to site I have to constantly search out thier device and add it to various policies. Is there a way to add it to all of my networks at the same time so I dont have to worry about getting it done each time someone shows up at a new location?

@Nash I've requested we just buy a dedicated box to run these things from. These remote locations are small, but even a used Dell r620 can be found cheap. I'll settle for a run of the mill PC with 10 Pro if I'm being honest. Small server offers a lot more options though. Unfortunately the cost of a Server OS is the real cost issue. Maybe it can run 10 Pro instead but not sure. Either way it's back to the drawing board and setting up a GPO I guess

It's an odd situation, I won't go into details but needless to say we need to keep 2 desktops up. People are turning them off and while I said a GPO removing the power button function and the software power button would likely be the best option he said to see if I could use WOL instead.

Is it possible to initiate a WOL via the API and Python? I found many ways to do it locally, but we operate remotely and since it operate on Layer 2 I'm looking for a way to kick it off using the switch. It's built into the console, but I need to be able to do it using a script or some other method.

@PhilipDAth It's set to 30 because I couldn't get it to go any higher, I have them in bridge mode because I cannot get a cable between them and I'd like to increase the power some to try and get a little more bandwidth.

Thanks, I'll be hitting it again soon, at least I've gotten Postman working for now 🙂 Is there a way to force the power setting on an AP? I set it to 24 and the AP stays at 16. Actually other than the templates and posted material is there a way to dig into what you can do within the code?

@MattPainter701 The solution works like a charm for us. I've not tried the PS script as I just logged into the forums so I cannot comment on that solution. If you use the MDM there is an option for VPN's listed, but I've never used it before.

I may have used that one but will try again. My biggest hurdle is that I have no one to help me out unfortunately which is why I was hoping for a detailed guide lol. I'm trying to learn API's but having some issues. Is there a really good guide focusing on Meraki? I've been over the different Meraki pages, but I'm looking more for a step by step guide. I'm having no luck getting the various scripts to run.

@boundless-digit I generally enjoy helping beta test new products, but in this case I must decline. The interface looks sleek and intuitive, but I'm particular about allowing software access to admin API's in this case. On the flip slide I have a Meraki Home Network I'll be willing to do some quick testing with if you would like. It's much smaller, but shoot me a PM and we can discuss.

@Nash Nice, I didn't realize there was a Meraki Repo on Github, I'll save those and go though them tomorrow. I'll take a look at the other code listed under the Meraki root as well. Is this maintained by Meraki or is it a 3rd party? I don't know a whole lot about GitHub unfortunately.

I known this can be done via API, but I've had very little time to parse the standard Google Searches and see what will and won't work for me and avoid someone trying to slip something in a piece of code. I'm paranoid just a little bit hehe. Does anyone have a code prepared in Python or Node Red? I know the basics of Python, and nothing for JS, but it seems pretty readable. I'd like to learn it myself, but in the meantime I'll settle for any handouts willing to be offered up.

The ability to have a template copy only selected items instead of overwriting everything in an existing network. For example, if I want a template only for firewall rules I should be able to apply only those rules and not overwrite the entire local config. Same goes for content filters and a few other items. I realize you can use Node Red and Python, but I personally work in a undersized department and rarely have time to stop and look at these things. I also don't know JS and I've been learning Python but it's slow going. The option of using the dashboard would make things easier for me personally and I imagine many others.

I agree, I'm mostly looking for an added layer of protection. We've talked about looking into umbrella, but until we actually sit down and look into it I'm going to block anything outside the U.S. If someone sets up an AWS or VPN to get around that there's not a lot I can do, but this will give me control of traffic going outside the country at least.

I pulled a few sites that had blocks listed for each country and there looked to be more than was feasible to block under L3. I was unaware you could block countries under L7 as we've never had much use for it. We normally block everything using content filtering and white listing anything that may be caught by it erroneously. I'll give this a look though, thanks

Is there a simple way to block geographic regions in the MX without manually entering them? Mostly it's just an added layer to keep things like Crypto Lockers from phoning home, but without some way to keep them updated and push them down to each of the facilities it'll be a massive headache. I realize they released some templates and tools for Node-Red but I know next to no JS and not had time to learn it honestly. If anyone has something in mind though I'll be happy to consider it.
