Thanks. I submitted to BrightCloud and they came back within 2 hours! Impressive. Ah, I'll look at Umbrella, thanks for the suggestion.

@PhilipDAth 's suggestion would indeed have been the easiest way of ensuring all the value of the MX80 licences was retained. The renewal would have also needed to include licensing for the two switches and at least two APs, plus any Systems Manager agents still needed (basically anything you still wanted to carry on working, after the renewal).

If this is an external scan then I assume you have port forwarding under your firewall settings for ports 22 and 30005? That should give you the IP address of the device.

Hi Paul, Thanks for the reply. I watched your video as well but as we don't push out WiFi protocols for BYO devices (users have their own username and password authenticated via radius) that doesn't help our situation. (Although I have enabled that in the WiFi profile we push to company owned and managed devices before they update to iOS 14) One small saving grace is that Systems Manager Sentry is not able to authorize a device with MAC randomisation enabled (since it can't correlate the WiFi and MDM MAC addresses) so a user can't get past the sentry until they manually disable MAC randomisation in their WiFi settings. Not very user friendly (they need to be informed out-of-band that they need to do this) but at least it prevents devices connecting and being able to use WiFi until this is done, and at that point all MAC based functionality will be working again. I agree that there needs to be a device wide MDM setting for this for enterprises to disable this feature on their managed devices, although even then they would still initially connect with a randomised MAC address until they had enrolled and received the profile, at which point the device would presumably reconnect with the correct MAC address, leaving behind a "ghost" device in the WiFi device list. A bit a of a mess really but this is typical of Apple introducing far reaching changes to how fundamental technology works without providing a way for enterprises to manage it properly.

I have also noticed some possible discrepancies in the allowed EIRP on Meraki W6 AP's vs the actual regulatory allowed EIRP. In Europe you have following rules. All 2.4 GHz channels - max 20 dBm EIRP. So the MR 33 should be max 16 dBm Tx Power and the MR36 should be max 14 dBm. In case of 5 GHz it depends on the channel. 36 - 48 and 52 - 64 = max 23 dBm EIRP In this case you should have max 19 dBm Tx power on MR33 and max 17 dBm on MR36. 100 - 140 = max 30 dBm EIRP In this case you should have max 26 dBm on MR33 and max 24 dBm on MR36 However the MR33 also has a total max Tx power of 17 to 21 dBm depending on the channel used. And the MR36 is even a bit lower I've found the datasheet in the library section of the site (it's not linked on the product page itself 😕 ) the max power is 18 dBm in 2.4 GHz and 17 on 5 GHw

Hey Everyone, Just wanted to confirm what Gary has posted as the solution on this thread. If anyone has any lingering issues, please check in with your ISPs and/or reach out to Meraki Support. If anyone has any specific questions for myself please don't hesitate to send me a DM. Rodrigo Meraki Support

There’s nothing in the datasheets that state otherwise. As it’s for a trial won’t your Meraki AM loan the eqpt to the customer so you can verify?

You should be able to tag the ports and then choose the tag to get an alert for. So tag all the ports except port 9 as "port notify" and then on the alerts pages choose this (I've tagged certain ports for cameras):

If it's a service such as RDP from one site to the other, check the firewall rules in Windows. We had a similar issue with a client and till systems trying to communicate with each other across VLANs/Site-to-Site VPN.

Because it hasn't been resolved after all of this time - I suspect it is related to a non-fixable hardware issue.

With a 42 you can go to 27.3, it is much better than prior 27.x releases and (for us) all 26.x releases

Hi, I'm planning an upgrade to 26.6.1 for quite a few MR42s. It has been a few months since its release and I was wondering if anyone has any recent feedback from their environment running this FW. I am currently on 25.13 and was thinking we would benefit from the newer more secure code (hopefully). Since the release notes are quite vague, I would like to hear your opinion. Thank you, Robert

@CN this is so cool, thanks for sharing and thanks for introducing the idea to us in the first place 🙂
Here's the abstract to save you a click (though, of course, the rest of the paper is worth a perusal and they'll be updating with new info as it becomes available). So exciting to know we have been part of such an impactful project:

thanks for reply, yes it appears so on a sky front. you used to be able to get the credentials via wireshark etc however some sites do say on MER / Fibre generic details work - all very confusing. The Z3 primarily was to get some inteligence over my home network ,and control. We are gearing up with Meraki head ends at work etc but i've not got that far yet - it was more to get used to the dashboard, help home diagnosis and add security / prioritisation etc. Ive ordered a BT VDSL modem so am hoping I can find the details or the genric ones work - then ill replace the sky router and use the Modem into the Z3. it does mean my Sky mesh will be impacted and I dont have other AP's but I have LAN to each mini box so at least I can connect them up - again unsure if that will work or if the Sky mesh needs to be in place.

IMO you need to establish if this is the Edge router, NEST cameras or the MR42 that is the root cause of the issue. If other devices also go offline do a tracert 8.8.8.8 to see where the traffic times out. Do it both wired to the network and next whilst connected to the MR42 (not simultaneously). Internet outages can be caused by your router, loss of wireless connectivity or drop in the connectivity to your router from the ISP depending on the type of connection you have. Finally EA4500 also has WiFi, ensure it is disabled to stop signal conflicts. Hope this helps. Cheers

I've scheduled this for 2am tomorrow. Apparently Netflix at the moment is critical ! I do wonder if the issues affecting MX84 will ever be fixed. They seem to have been around for a while now. Still waiting for AnyConnect Beta 😀

@Marc1 it sounds like you've been through all the basic troubleshooting and rebooting equipment just in case, you have your two MX appliances connected and they are online in Dashboard and have good connectivity out of each location, but the site-to-site VPN tunnel is not coming up. I'm assuming when you go to Security & SD-WAN > Monitor > VPN Status, you can see the VPN peer listed in the table but perhaps it's all red with no connectivity and the usage/latency numbers might be 0. At the top of that page, look over the connectivity graph, is it all red or green or alternating, and if you hover over different pieces of it, is there anything about being unable to connect with the VPN Registry? I'm assuming you have the local LAN subnets included in the VPN on the site-to-site configuration page. Also make sure you did not leave the local LAN subnets at the default on both MX appliances, otherwise you would have the default 192.168.128.0/24 in both places so I'm assuming they're unique subnets. Also take a peek at Security & SD-WAN > Monitor > Route Table and make sure that looks as you would expect. If it seems like everything is configured as it should be and the S2S is just not coming up, I'd go ahead of open a ticket with Meraki Support, they will be able to check on the back end if and where the appliances are getting stuck building the tunnel.

@Stuggi wrote: I've been quite behaved recently, but in my younger days I had a bit of a hobby of reading the newspaper and seeing if I could find anything that could be used as material for WiFi naming. Say evil mega-corporation was in the papers, I'd add an SSID "EvilMegaCorp Guest" or something. It usually took around 3 days before my neighbours in the apartment complex started talking about how EvilMegaCorp had plans for opening an office in the neighbourhood. Haha that's awesome! I actually recently created a new SSID: It basically translates to "#StayAtHome😷"

I agree with @PhilipDAth. Afair, there is no rule against screenscraping, as it is just a script impersonating a users movement in the dashboard. Just don't expect the screen scraping script will work from day to day. The dashboard changes.
