@jdsilva Correct so if he has all of his phones on VLAN 10 simply search that VLAN and apply the MAC whitelist in bullk using the switchports page and job done. If the network is flat and everything is on VLAN 1 that idea wont work. I've done a quick check and I was able to enter 140 sperate lines of MAC before i got bored and gave up so you can have a reasonable sized whitelist.

@jdsilva Simply what @Network-dad is trying to do it make the phones work and kill network connectivity to anything else that is plugged into those phones i.e. stop people piggy backing off the phones LAN connection. White listing only the phones MAC on the ports associated with his voice VLAN will do this. Any device that is not within the whitelist won't get an IP address. Please correct me if I am wrong @Network-dad otherwise I to have missed what you are wanting to achieve.

@jdsilva Statically assigned DHCP, means DHCP server gives device with MAC xx:xx:xx:xx:xx the IP address of xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx rather than dynamic DHCP where server just gives the device any old IP in its DHCP range. I don't mean disable the DHCP service entitrely I just mean disable the dynamic range.

I wonder if that field is only there to show what country the device was sold in. Switches are far as I am aware don't have country codes like wireless access points do.

It would be a few hours work but can you setup the voice network so that phones IP are statically assigned via DHCP and then disable the dynamic DHCP on that network meaning anyone that plugs in will only get a self assigned IP. You could use the room numbers as the IP address i.e. room 101 = xxx.xxx.xxx.101 Once its setup maintaining it would be very easy.

We are right in the midst of planning a "white hack" of our network using an external provider. While I think we have everything covered I am no specialist when it comes to penetration testing. I know that phishing attacks are like shooting fish in a barrell as there will always be someone who takes the bait however I am looking forward to the results we get and to see where we can adjust our policy and procedures. I am also completing my own security audit that looks at everything from firewalls to the physical security of our equipment i.e. cabinets and server rooms. At the end of the day I am tasked with keeping my network going 24/7 so I have to look at every angle in terms of security. On another exciting note my plan is to increase the number of MV smart cameras we have in 2020.

@ToryDav Do you run everything on this single VLAN 999? If so set every port for access VLAN 999 rather than trunk.

I agree live chat is a useful feature, I prefer live chat to sitting on a phone call, it means I can do other things while working with support. It means there is a record of what was said as well which is useful for follow ups.

I have checked the documentation however I haven't found anything but I think it would be really useful for Meraki cameras to support time stamping. Having the local time displayed on historical and exported footage would be very handy. Time stamping is a common feature for CCTV so I am surprised its not available with MV cameras.

I have a single MV72 that I am testing, today I have just tried the use the digital zoom while viewing the live feed, when I do so the feed freezes and if I keep zooming I lose the picture all together and end up with a greyed out background and spinning wheel. I am viewing the camera locally so I'm pretty sure its not a bandwidth issue. It more seems like a bug with the dashboard.

@Tomek Cisco SG300 and 350 switches support both L2 and L3, there is a setting you can change that simply requires a reboot to switch between the two options.

@mrjrtykr A lot of user personal preferences like this are not able to be managed by MDM's I guess Apple need to careful on what settings they choose can be managed by MDM othewise the list for managed settings would be huge.

Meraki camera footage can only be accessed using the Meraki dashboard.

@WarrenForNOLA Yes Build 26 is a Beta release. Meraki beta releases are usually very good though plus the beauty with Meraki is you can rollback the firmware if you run into problems.

@dbelliss changing the device name in systems manager will only change the name within Meraki. Apple don't allow MDMs to change the devices hostname, this still needs to be manually done on the device.
