Simple MX structure for Internet & MPLS WANs

Hi, all

Now I'm in PoC for 2 sites(HQ & Branch) connection by Internet & MPLS WANs.

I'd like to use MPLS as main, and Internet as fail-over.

I'd like to make physical structure simple, I will use MX64 as edge router.

My plan is that in MX64, internet WAN line is directly connected to Internet port

MPLS WAN line is directly connected to LAN4 port (as WAN configured).

(NW image is similar with this)

Is the above configuration used frequently(In general?)?

I appreciate if you advise me, about also problem etc.

Kind of a big deal

We run into this and since our MPLS is a private link it has to be on a LAN port and we route 0.0.0.0 to it.  But this negates failover so we've mostly been switching to MPLS internet links so we can have 2 truly load balanced internet connections tunneled back to the core.  Then things are seamless.

Hi, Adam

Thank you for your reply.

I'm sure that construction as simple edge router is difficult...and looking forward MX can use BGP in overlay/underlay.
