I was wondering if it's possible to configure SAML in SM and then allow that to be used during enrollment of an ADE enrolled device? So far, I'm not having any luck.

No unfortunately. I guess all Meraki switches do a DNS snooping/analysis. When Meraki switches are being used as breakout switches, it’s too much for that service and causes DNS queries to go unanswered. Once they turned it off on those switches on their side, everything was totally normal.

Just to post an update on this. After hours on with support, they determined it was caused by a "DNS snooping" feature on the switch. They disabled it on the breakout switches and almost immediately the DNS no responses stopped.

Hey all. I’ve been wrestling with something and I’d like to get some thoughts on it. I was getting reports from users of the network being slow. In my troubleshooting, I noticed that my MRs (MR56) were showing that clients were intermittently not getting DNS responses. Finding a dns perf tool, I verified very high DNS latency or just no responses to queries. I have two different ISPs connected to two separate MS125s acting as break out switches that go into a pair of MX450s in HA. When I switched to my other ISP, I again got a large number of no responses to DNS. I also did pings to various sites and servers but did not observe any loss or latency. After moving my perf tool from AP to then switch, to then MX and then to the break out switches, the DNS issue seemed consistent at each level. That is until I plugged the ISP directly into the MX, not going through the breakout switch. So it seems like removing the breakout switch may be the issue… The breakout MS is not showing low memory usage and does not seem to be under extreme stress. Anyone have any experience with this or have any additional thoughts?

Since going from 16.7 to 17.1.3 I've been experiencing all sorts of odd network issues. The biggest symptoms are seeing my SNMP monitor showing different servers/endpoints going up and down but more concerning is VoIP issues. Having calls either that the caller can't hear the other person or vice versa. I do all my layer 3 on MS425s and edge switches are MS350s. Support is helping by downgrading the firmware on the two 425s. Anyone else seeing issues like this with 17.1.3?

Hello! I see that SM supports the new iOS/iPadOS 17 feature "Return to Service", which allows you to wipe a device but send a WiFi profile to have it set itself up after the wipe. You can find this feature on the new SM interface when you check the box of a device and then under command, erase devices. I've tried it a few times but it only unenrolls the device and wont wipe it. I don't see any documentation on Meraki's site, only on Apple's site. I have a case in but has anyone else tried this feature?

Confirm the port is not disabled. Also see if on the port status (right below where you configure the port on the switch page) sees the transceiver.

I think for me it's cleanup up VLANS, auditing ports, checking spanning tree, etc. Not sure if I'll use the dashboard or API, but cleanup, auditing and documentation are high on my list for 2021.

I am already using the API to help manage my inventory. I block devices that are not assigned to a user from accessing my Meraki WiFi though a custom web application. I would like to take automation to another level and configure switch ports automatically via the API too. And I need cable management in most of my closets.

@PhilipDAth One last question. If I complete all the edge switch stack upgrades using the staged upgrade tool then only have my two MS425 aggregation switches left to update (which is where I really would like redundancy to occur), does using the regular firmware upgrade page under Org->Monitor behave any differently?
