Hello! I see that SM supports the new iOS/iPadOS 17 feature "Return to Service", which allows you to wipe a device but send a WiFi profile to have it set itself up after the wipe. You can find this feature on the new SM interface when you check the box of a device and then under command, erase devices. I've tried it a few times but it only unenrolls the device and wont wipe it. I don't see any documentation on Meraki's site, only on Apple's site. I have a case in but has anyone else tried this feature?

Here is a link about scripting in Postman. The great thing about APIs though is you can really write a script in any language you want. I've written some in Powershell or in CFML (Adobe Coldfusion). Python is a great language to learn too.

Confirm the port is not disabled. Also see if on the port status (right below where you configure the port on the switch page) sees the transceiver.

You may want to look at this support page. I'm not aware of any data saving feature, short of MV cameras that will continue to record. Essentially everything should function and you can't make any configuration changes until the connection is restored.

Instead of playing it safe, why not allow folks the ability to use the old page like others pages allow? Having to shut down my entire virtual environment to upgrade my MS425 stack is pretty unreasonable. This is a complete loss of redundancy. I’ve updated the stack separately for years and not had any issues. This is truly a disappointing change!

Your best bet is to check syslog and search the source IP. In my logs there is l7_firewall logs that I look though. I’ve also done packet captures looking for reset flags and looked up the destinations country online.

VRRP is automatic with the MXs. Put one IP on the primary MX, then another on the secondary and then a third on the virtual IP. Once that is set, you can either make one WAN connection the primary and the other a failover or you can load balance by IP/Network. I think for me it's cleanup up VLANS, auditing ports, checking spanning tree, etc. Not sure if I'll use the dashboard or API, but cleanup, auditing and documentation are high on my list for 2021.

I'm not sure it can install the agent automatically unless enrolled in DEP. Documentation says "Once configured, devices enrolling through DEP can automatically install the agent if within the specified scope." https://documentation.meraki.com/SM/Device_Enrollment/Systems_Manager_Agent_and_MDM_Profile_Enrollment#Auto-installing_the_macOS_Agent

You'll want both ports up, then edit the IP info for the switch (changing the IP, VLAN, etc accordingly), and then you should be able to disable the old port.

How did you add them to the dashboard? At minimum you need the profile installed. If they are in DEP this happens during setup, then the agent can be installed. If they are not in DEP, then this would be a manual process to get the profile installed.
