Hi! Has anybody managed to configure Meraki using RADIUS servers that only reply to radsec? I'm testing Merkai 802.1x behaviour with a Radius as a service solution that uses only radsec. Yes, I could use a proxy to overcome this but it is additional cost and hops. I found a packet fence post where they say there is a way with Meraki if you upload the Meraki cert to your Radius server but I can't find a Meraki cert. Network Devices Configuration Guide (packetfence.org) Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi! Seeing there are no replies I will post what I found. Basically, everything was ok, the problem is that the app seems to do a preliminary check and then will create tunnels on subsequent checks when it finds a new site with the tag. Solution: Make sure there are no tags when the function app is running, wait for the function app to do the first pass, this will take about 5-10 minutes (as the app runs every 5 minutes). Then add your tags. Then it works fine. Another thing to note is that if you remove the tags then the tags are removed from the VPN configuration on the Meraki side and so no networks are passed and there is no connectivity, but the VPN that was created in Azure will remain there so no cleanup is done by the automation, only VPN creations. Final thing to notice is that you must have created a VPN Gateway, the app doesn't create this for you. This is not mentioned in the document, where it just tells you that you need a VWAN and a VWAN Hub. You also need a VPN Gatway in the VWAN Hub you are going to tag. I hope this is useful for anybody else testing this out.

Hi! I am trying to follow the steps for this document: Cisco Meraki MX Branch to Azure Virtual WAN Deployment Guide - Cisco Meraki I have done everything as per the document, the function app gets deployed, it runs, no errors, everything is fine but no VPNs are deployed. I have one single network in my lab with the tag as per the document. The function app has a role of network contributor: And I also created a VPN Gateway because even though the document says that the function app will do this I saw an error message saying that there was no VPN Gateway in the hub when I run the function app: And yes, the MX software is higher than 15.12. Hi all, You can find information on this link: https://documentation.meraki.com/MS/Access_Control/MS_Switch_Access_Policies_(802.1X) Specifically for this post: Dynamic VLAN Assignment In lieu of CoA, MS switches can still dynamically assign a VLAN to a device by assigned the VLAN passed in the Tunnel-Pvt-Group-ID attribute. It may be necessary to perform dynamic VLAN assignment on a per computer or per user basis. This can be done on your wired network via 802.1x authentication (RADIUS). In order to do so, the following RADIUS attributes must be configured and passed in the RADIUS Access-Accept message from the RADIUS server. Tunnel-Medium-Type: Choose 802 (Includes all 802 media plus Ethernet canonical format) for the Attribute value Commonly used for 802.1X. Tunnel-Private-Group-ID: Choose String and enter the VLAN desired (ex. "500"). This string will specify the VLAN ID 500. Tunnel-Type: Choose Attribute value Commonly used for 802.1X and select Virtual LANs (VLANs). Once these attributes are configured on the RADIUS server, client devices can receive their VLAN assignment dynamically. For more information on how to configure with NPS, visit Microsoft's article on Configuring a Network Policy for VLANs. Dynamic VLAN Assignment is not supported on the voice VLAN/domain.

Hi, Is there a comprehensible list of features of each of the MS licenses as a comparison table similar to the MX comparison of the three license type? I have only seen two separate information pages for these MS licenses and I'm not sure it gives much information on why it would be good to use one over the other. Hi! Looking at the RMA only licenses options and I am wondering if they are only in case of hardware failure or if they could also be used for the initial installation of the new device. Having no technical people on some offices means that the initial installation would need an engineer the same way as a hardware replacement if the device fails. Thanks! T.

Happy New Year everybody! This year has a few network resolutions for me: 1. - Recertify CCNA, which I let expire a few years ago. This is just to train my brain into studying and exam mode as it should be an easy one to do. 2. - Get skilled into Meraki API programming - I am currently doing a bunch of labs from the Meraki Developer Hub. 3. - I would love to be able to do the Meraki Certification and I wish there was also a specific Meraki Dev cert, but hey! I´ll keep waiting! 4. - Lastly, but definitely not least, I will create all necessary documentation and I will help our Marketing and Management departments to be updated and ready for Meraki as we are currently pushing Meraki as a new product in our portfolio. I will you all good resolution completion and may this 2021 be a better year! Wish me luck! T.

Thanks @KarstenI, I knew one network was not just a single IP range, but I think I confused the term "network" with "organisation". Essentially I need one license per site, which really is the same as one per MX unless I have HA on the site. Thanks!

Hi @Bruce, Thanks for the reply but you are referring to network as one single site. The Meraki classification of network is actually an enterprise. One Network has many different sites and each site will have, as you say, one MX (or two in case of high availability). Hence again we come to the one license per network (enterprise with many MX routers one per site). What you say is that the license moves around to different MX routers, but in the documentation the license is applied to a network, not to a router. So what I think here is that if you have 26 MX of one type you need a single MI license to cover them. Then if you have an MX of a different type you need to make sure the MI license covers your new type. Does this make sense?

Hi, The documentation says I need a collector for the MI and that the collector needs a license. Then it says that the license is applied per network. So my question is: If I have a customer with 26 MX64 and I want them to use MI. Do I need 26 licenses one per MX or just one LIC-MI-S-3YR on one of the network? I am guessing the S license is fine as this device is the MX64 and each site doesn´t have more than 100Mb. Thanks! T.

Hello! I've been very familiar with Cisco products for a long time and I recently joined a company focused on cloud. As I had to build a new Network Portfolio I chose Cisco Meraki as our number 1 Cloud Networking product. I am doing the Meraki FIT course just to check it out - I will go into more technical training soon... and OMG! I was laughing so much with the MV video! This woman stealing the laptop is hilarious! and "Oh, yes, I used the American pronunciation there!" from Helen. It is great that you can have fun and laugh whilst doing some training. I'm very happy to have chosen Meraki. Great product, great functionality, great team. Wish me luck to get some customers!
