That was it! I was running the packet capture on the switchport the camera was connecting to. Once I ran a capture on my first switch outgoing port, all the specific traffic is showing the new DSCP. Thank you for the quick help on this!

Our security cameras are default CS0(shows as such in wireshark). I set in switch settings to change any UDP traffic on our camera vlan to DSCP 34, but I'm not seeing the change reflected in wireshark. Would I? If there is no congestion, would the new DSCP tag not show?

Hmmmm, could you explain the logic behind that? So any outbound rules creates the equiv. inbound rule as well on the back end for ipv4?

I'm trialing out a MX67 connected to a Meraki Cellular gateway. I'm looking at the firewall rules on the MX and am only seeing Layer 3 rules for ipv6, none for ipv4. Does the MX only do ipv6 inbound layer 3 firewalling?

Upgraded a couple of weeks ago, all was fine except for a couple of one offs (majority MR42 env). Purchased 10 MR42s and they would boot up fine, but would get hung up in the firmware update portion. In the dashboard, it will say the APs are up to date on firmware, but on their local status page, it would stay at 0%. Factory reset did nothing. Ended up rolling back to 26.6.1 and all APs came online completely.

Hi there-- Can anyone provide some examples of some recommended QOS rules prioritizing Video Conferencing (Teams, Zoom, etc)? We're running into issues where our Virtual Teacher's (that teach from school) students telling them that they are freezing and cutting in/out during our peak usage time (12-230p), so thought some QOS on the MRs may help.

Clients are randomly getting named in dashboard based off of mDNS. I put in a ticket and 'make a wish' in Oct 2019. Now more and more devices named this way and I cannot rename thousands of devices manually. Current order of retrieval in Meraki. User Defined MDNS NetBios DHCP Hostname Let's make mDNS lower than DHCP hostname OR allow this to be customized by administrators.

There's definitely no need for as many as 8. It's me getting it down beyond 5 is the big concern. We have to have separate ssids for Students, Guest, Teacher/School Assigned Faculty, District Staff & Non School Assigned Mobile Devices (Each have different access levels regarding Content filtering and bandwidth). I think 5 will be a good start for me at least.

Hi Everyone, Time and time again, Meraki support has told me that the recommended SSID is no more than 3. I've stepped into a multi-network environment that has a minimum of 8-10 ssids broadcasting. Im in the process of trying to plan some consolidations but I struggle with this as I can only easily get rid of maybe 1 or 2 so I'm thinking my best solution is a per-AP ssid broadcast using tags. But that'll only probably get me down to about 5 broadcasting. I work for a k-12, so the schools have a variety of functions and access levels (students, faculty, main district staff who need to be able to go from school to school, guests and mobile devices). Has anyone successfully done a 5+ SSID environment (successful in your opinion)? Also, I have mostly MR42s and 34s(slowing upgrading to 42s).

Hi David, It’s good to hear that I’m not the only one lol! What I ended up doing so I could test with a different firmware version was move my ap to a test environment network (copied my live environment). However, I only rolled it back to the last stable release (my production environment is in the Beta).

I dont have access to the pi since its 3rd party owned/managed...but I was able to run a sniffer from my macbook and had Meraki support review the pcaps. they stated that the pi is sending probe request and the AP is returning them but nothing in the pcap shows the pi sending authentication requests. I relayed this info over to the manufacturer and ultimately, they keep saying its not them. I firmly believe something is up with the Pi itself, but I wanted to run this through the forum to get some fresh eyes.

MR 26.2 also, I moved one of the APs into my test network and downgraded it to the lastest stable 25.13 & the results were no different.

Some I have set to dhcp (and whitelisted the mac address on the dhcp server), others I have set to a static ip and still nothing.

Hi Everyone, We have about 12 laptop charging stations that have raspberry pi with wireless adapters integrated. Im having an overall large issue with connecting to the wireless. I will get "client has left AP" over and over. I was able to consistently connect one of the towers to a Mifi hotspot that I had on hand with no issue. My SSID is currently broadcasting both 2.4 & 5, 802.11r is disabled. On the dashboard, I will see it connect for a hot sec and then drop off. Any help would be great as I've been reaching out to both ends (manufacturer and Meraki support) and both point to each other.

Yes this helps alot--as I was told this exact thing, but it would not work over a SMF line that I had so assumed the guy may be incorrect in his info. Looks like I may just have to do some additional testing to see if I got a bad sfp.

Hey Guys, Could someone please explain what this doc means as far as Jacket: https://meraki.cisco.com/lib/pdf/meraki_datasheet_sfp.pdf To give an overview: I have a couple of MA-SFP-10GB-LRM (not purchased by me) but in the datasheet, 4 of them all have this same product ID. How am I suppose to know what I have??? On my SFPs I see that on the little handle that allows me to pull out the sfp, its orange. Could this be what the datasheet is referring to as far as "Jacket" (when i think of jacket I think of the actual jacket color on fiber).
