Can you run a packet capture on one of the switch ports for an affected access point. I have seen a very similar issue in the past but is was caused by bridging VLANS and DHCP requests travelling over two subnets that were bridged and meant there were duplicate ACK packets being sent. Is there anyone else your work with that may have changed something? has the firmware on your MR units updated recently? Something has to have changed to cause this.

@AaronKennedy Are there any logs on the Windows Server? Does it affect all SSID's or just a certain one?

From the info you have provider the client device isn't the problem. I would be looking at the tagging on the switches, I suspect someone has changed a VLAn setting. When the devices connect are they getting an IP via DHCP?. I suspect they might not be.

@yeowkm in your dashboard under Wireless>Monitor>RF Spectrum when you click on one of the AP's and click on the interferring AP's tab what do you see. Can you upload a screenshot of what you get. Are you pushing your client devices to use 5Ghz rather than the saturated 2.4Ghz spectrum?

I am not aware of a SSID limit however the access point itself has limitations.

I dont see how its an old certificate when its not expired..... Meraki have obviously chosen GoDaddy and Valicert as their certificate providers.

If its in their documentation I wouldn't be concerned. Ive just looked at one of my devices in closer detail and those certs are there.

@DrPlumber that could be the problem the device may have already been registered in DEP by the previous owner. You could give Apple a call and speak to the team that looks after DEP.

@DylanA as Jared said credentials are not possible as is App preferences. MDM can only control most system settings at a basic level i.e. require a passcode but not being able to set it and install App's

@aws_architect what models of iPad and iPhone exactly, are they recent models or older hardware? Do you have any iOS devices that don't have this issue?

Does it happen with all of your devices? What models are they, are you using the free or paid version of systems manager.

@aws_architect you are not the only person that has seen this issue, it is a bug and I am sure if it was a security risk something would have been said. It most likely an old signing authority cert thats no longer being used.

@DrPlumber the main benefit of DEP is the device is locked to your organisation, which means if stolen and restored it will also reinstall the profile that you have chosen, their is no way around this so it means you can brick the device. I don't know why your device won't enrol properly. Can you ask the company you bought it from to register it into DEP or are they not able to do that?

@DrPlumber You can add the devices into Meraki as supervised devices using configurator without them being in DEP. I have played around with this a lot as most of our iPhones are not enrolled in DEP but I wanted them supervised.

Gutted, all of the MS225-48FP units I installed 4 weeks ago now have to be replaced...... Thats a huge amount of work that I now have to try and factor in. I wonder if they can sweetin the blow with a free MV device or something 🙂

@SlothSlayer your router is most probably acting as a firewall and is probably blocking outgoing traffic. Here is a list of ports required for Meraki equipment to work. https://documentation.meraki.com/zGeneral_Administration/Other_Topics/Firewall_Rules_for_Cloud_Connectivity

@Peter_Inveros what version of iOS are the iPAds running, they need to be version 11 to enrol in DEP via configurator. If you go to m.meraki.com and enter in your 10 digit code do thre devices then show in your dashboard?

You have two options. Switch > Configure > ACL OR Switch > Configure > Routing & DHCP The MS120 series will only support the following "This switch only supports interfaces for DHCP relay and IGMP snooping querier functionalities." You cannot setup L3 routing ACL on this model of switch.
