Thanks to Meraki dashboard, I was able to prove to a chain store "brass" that the wifi problems were occouring only at the 2,4Ghz due to unmanagable interferences (you can neither ask the Store Security to switch off the alarms because of their motion detectors neither ask the store customers to switch off their phones/personnal hotspots when they enter a store). The sollution was to force the corporate end user equipements (bar code readers, laptops, corporate mobile appliances) to preferably use 5Ghz and replace those that were 2,4Ghz-only. Problems solved and a very happy customer.

Delighted to say that my fridge arrived safely. I now have the excuse I needed to go and get some bottles of (overstrength) Belgian beer, as it comes in a bottle of the right size to fit the interior space (the exterior size is 7U) Thanks everybody

Create a group policy, configure the firewall rules to block access to all RFC1918 address space and apply the group policy to the VLAN on the MX.

Most of the time I program it using Node Red, which some Meraki and Cisco techies also like using. my present project uses one of these to autonomously control the height at which a racing sail boat "flies" above the water when on hydrofoils. I use ultrasonics to measure the height above the water and adjust trim tabs on control surfaces using linear activators along with "some other stuff". It is absolutely brilliant, and it scales as I can just add additional 2040s if I need more processing power. Node Red is based on Node.js so it is asynchronous . . . I intend using the same software to automate Meraki API functionality.

Hm, @BlakeRichardson - I don't want to completely separate out Tips & Tricks, because wouldn't we then need a separate "Tips & Tricks" board for each product / technology area (security, switching, etc)? I think the best option within the community platform is to use tags or labels. Probably labels are best because there are nice filters for labels (on the right side of each board's landing page), and also you can subscribe to labels. So, you could get an email update whenever someone posted, say, a new security-related tip.

I love this thread... the photos are awesome. Super impressed with the full network roll-outs, the SDWAN focus, the aboutnetworks.net blog, and the amount of people looking to clean up cabling... and of course my favorite: "Get a job dealing with Meraki exclusively. @DBHS When doing the setup make sure the check mark to "activate" the device is not checked. Then go into deploy.apple.com (DEP) and assign it to your Meraki server (serial # usually works best) > set prestage enrollment in Meraki (make sure this is done before setup on the device is started. @tnight Wow! Thanks so much for the recognition. Meraki has truly transformed our business from an IT perspective. The WiFi we had in place before I came on-board was your typical terrible hotel WiFi - slow, awful signal, bounced every few minutes. Not the type of service you want when offering $500 a night suites. With Meraki, gone are the days of "rebooting the modem" to get a few more people on. 2,000 concurrent connections? Not a problem, bring it on! @CarolineS: Thanks for making such a great community and inviting us to be a part of it. Really a lot of fun here helping other users and seeing how other businesses have deployed Meraki solutions across the world!

A Support Engineer should be available 24x7x365. Meraki has follow the Sun Support teams based in San Francisco, London, and Sydney. I'm also hearing that they are now expanding into Asia also!
