I have had a few customers reach out to me about the Merkai Email Sent to them. =================================================== Hello valued Meraki customer, Meraki will be discontinuing support for versions 1.0 and 1.1 of the Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol used by wireless devices to communicate with Meraki Authentication. In order to facilitate the provisioning of enhanced security features, we will be requiring all customers to upgrade, at a minimum, to TLS version 1.2. This change will only affect wireless devices using TLS versions 1.0 and 1.1 when connecting to the Meraki Authentication server. Timing: Due to security requirements, we do not have the ability to determine which of your devices, if any, are currently using the prior versions of the TLS protocol. In an effort to help you identify these devices, we will be temporarily disabling support for TLS 1.0 and 1.1 as a test. This action will cause a planned disruption of device connectivity, which will begin at 12:00 am PST on April 19, 2023 and end at 12:00 am PST on April 20, 2023. Any devices that experience an issue with connectivity during the test period may be using the prior versions of the TLS protocol. Final retirement of TLS 1.0 and 1.1 will take place on May 17, 2023. Required action: Please plan for the 24-hour test period accordingly. If any of your devices experience an issue with connectivity during the planned test period outlined above, you may be required to upgrade to TLS 1.2 or a later version. To help you determine where potentially-affected devices may be located, a list of your organizations with Meraki Authentication enabled =================================================== Why can Merkai not flag the clients using the OLD TLS protocols ??? Would make it much easier to know the issues before 19April. A hospital cannot have wifi devices down for a day for testing.

No I only know they boot with 1.1.1.1 address no one has explained the reason. I just upgrade 1 switch at a time now

Not sure how long it has been there (this might be my first sticky client) Loving this notification! Bought a Sensibo to control the aircon in a computer room. keep getting this notification. Looks like the device is made for users with ONLY 1 AP. It connects to the lowest channel NOT the strongest signal. it will not connect the AP in the room . instead connects to one down hall talked to Sensibo and it connects to the first ap it finds

I have 2 x SSID one 2.4Ghz and one on 5Ghz Which is good best practice. trouble is the algorithm just looks at the number of SSID per AP not number of SSID per Band. Admittedly this will change with 6Ghz having a 6Ghz only SSID is not good practice due to the number of channels and you need 5 Ghz to give the neighbor reports to know what 6Ghz channels to scan.

I am getting this banner keen to reduce latency by 40%. !!!!! Click the diagnostics... Get this How do I reduce Latency by 40% ???? I have WiFi 6 separate SSID for 2.4Ghz an 5Ghz (best practice for now maybe not for 6Ghz). The "Broadcasting SSID Per AP" is miss leading when you have separate SSID per band. I am MUCH BETTER than the industry average but it shows me that I am below 😥 This is what is should look like I still want to know how the AI thinks I can reduce latency by 40% or is this just clickbait to run the diagnostics that may or may not find anything ???

I opened a support case to at least get all the organisation names affected by this. I was told "Currently, we cannot provide the list of affected networks to the customers." Find this hard to believe when Meraki sent out emails to contacts "Currently Using"

I received this email today. You are receiving this email because you are currently using Meraki Cloud Authentication. Due to an approaching certificate expiration, Meraki will be rotating the RADIUS certificate for Meraki Cloud Authentication on February 8, 2023. Could Meraki please include in emails like this the "Network" names that are affected? When you look after many customers, I have no clue which ones are affected without checking them all. It is obvious you know the name of the network as you know we are currently using the feature. Also, the FAQ in the attached link should also tell you how to identify the affected networks (BY name) for people that look after a huge number of networks. Q: How can an affected network be identified? A: Any services relying on Meraki Cloud Authentication via certificates will be affected. This includes Sentry Wi-Fi, Trusted Access Wi-Fi, and any manual authentication relying on Meraki Cloud Authentication via certificates.

You would need to utilize a Starlink ethernet adapter in order to plug in your own equipment. While Bypass mode is enabled, router commands will not work. If the toggle switch does not appear in the Settings tab, can factory reset the router and/or delete and re-download the app. App Message in red text when Bypass is enabled: "Bypass Mode will completely disable the built-in Starlink Wifi router. this is an advanced feature that requires a Starlink Ethernet adapter and your own network equipment. A manual Factory reset will be required to reverse this."

Customers using Starlink can run into issues using Meraki SDWAN if they use 192.168.1.0/24 The Starlink router uses 192.168.1.0/24 for the local LAN subnet. If your office uses 192.168.1.0/24 as well then this will cause issues for SDWAN and VPN Traffic Prior to version 15.44 you could have the WAN subnet the same as a subnet on the SDWAN the route on the SDWAN took preference. after 15.44 the traffic would go out of the WAN port and get lost. This issue was fixed again in 18.0.2 but requires Meraki support to do a back-end fix. The best solution would be to change the WAN subnet to a different range but this has been impossible. I recently had a Starlink at my office and with the help of support, there is a solution now. This not been my experience and I have to roll back I would love to change the spoke but Star-link can only be configured to 192.168.1.0/24 and it cannot be changed. Elon if you are reading can you please allow users of star-link to change the LAN addressing and turn off the WiFi it would allow much better playing with meraki. In Australia we have a lot of remote farms on star-link using Meraki

I current have a bug in meraki firmware in any version after 15.44 Case 08418471 Been told there are 100 other cases linked to this bug. Support have locked the Firmware to 15.44 (and the dash board shows locked) The issue is meraki keep trying to automatically upgrade and take the network down Support tell me that even though the dashboard show new version it is still locked. but I do not believable them as the network dies when the upgrade happens and works again when you roll back the upgrade. Why when the firmware is locked does the automatic firmware update keep trying to upgrade ? Better still fix the bug !

Yes I have just seen this across many clients. when I look up hash on virus total it says item not found. Support must be getting smashed as they are not answering.... Update: Got through to support and they are investigating but that this point they think a false positive. They are going to update the banner in security center once they know

My understanding was the prices were adjusted so that when you bought both the price was still the same as it was originally. So there should not be additional expense. I haven’t bought one lately so I can’t verify that is true. Prices going up everywhere you may not notice !

Thank you for the clarification. White is much nicer color. I have some under some air conditioners and the green looks terrible against the white wall. Another Question when I am at a customer site how can I tell if they have been replaced by looking at them, if they are both white now ?? is there some other tell tale sign ??

Just and update the latest Firmware 17.8 has fixed the issue of the IPV6 just stopping after a while when the IPV6 Prefixes would just disappear from the "IPv6 Prefixes" Tab for Manually Assigned IPv6 Addresses. Also the allow incoming IPV6 ICMP firewall rule I had just started working. I removed the Secondary MX and all seems much more stable and the dash board now displays the status correctly (all the fields line up correctly on the Uplink Tab with secondary removed) Think I will leave this disabled till the IPV6 external virtual ip address support is there. Still have 1 unresolved issue and that is how do the clients behind the meraki on IPV6 get the DNS servers ? Is the Mx advertising any IPV6 servers. My switches have IPV6 address on AUTO but are not getting IPV6 DNS. is the ONLY way to get DNS to have STATIC IPv6 Address and STATIC IPv6 DNS servers ?? (latest firmware also fixed the bug that the IPV6 interface is on the correct VLAN and not VLAN 1. Yay !) When testing IPv6 some of the testing sites say IPV6 relies on some ICMP IPv6 messages. Any IPV6 Experts out there is this best practice ??? Should I be leaving a firewall rule to outside to allow ICMPv6 traffic any to xxxx:yyyy:zzzz:dd:: ??

I got this update from support the (MA-CBL-LEAK-1) I received is one that has the issue fixed and the case closed automatically This is very very confusing.. So all new cables that have the defect fixed have the same part number as the cables that have the defect. The colour is exactly the same as the ones that have the defect. When I look at them side by side I can not see any difference between them. I admit the White cable looks so much better than the green one and looks very ugly under the white aircon unit it protects. I prefer the white cable but would have liked to have seen something on the cable that indicates that this is the 1A cable even a green dot on the plug. If Meraki know exactly all the customer that received the faulty leak cables why is this not listed in the Help-> hardware replacements menu for the people effected ? I have sold Leak Detectors to other customers and have NO idea if they have faulty cables to. I can not look at the existing cables and know by colour. I cannot look in the dash board and know they were part of the recall. Am I missing something here ?? What colour cables have others been getting as part of the recall I would be interested to know.

I spend a a lot of time submitting feedback but now I am wondering if you even get it. on the old dash board you get and empty dialog box with an OK.. On the new dashboard you get submitting feedback but no confirmation... and the screen never returns....... on the old dashboard you get blank dialogue... I just tried in chrome and you get positive feedback the feedback was submitted.
