Could you not just set-up a standard WAN connection and don't plug anything in so its permanently in failover or are the settings for failover quite limiting. Sorry for my ignorance if they are we have multiple ISP connections so don't use 4G at all.

Ah you bet me to it, @PhilipDAth has just suggested what I was going to suggest. I don't think these tags apply to everything, I have only ever seen them apply to iOS devices not any other devices added to systems manager

@MilesMeraki and @PhilipDAth I am able to change these myself I just feel I shouldn't have to for two reasons. 1. When I choose the region as part of the devices setup why can't it set the time zone to that region, its not like I'm going to say I live in NZ and want my timezone to be PST 2. If the MDM can set almost every other setting on the device why can it not set the time zone. It makes logical sense to be able to do this.

I had this exact same problem 2-3 months ago, support suggested I try a different port on the switch and see if the problem followed the device... It didn't and when I plugged another device into the suspect port I never had any issues.... Without knowing exactly what caused it the case was closed.

As @Chris_M has stated a /24 cannot handle more than 256 addresses. You need to change to a different class of network. If you don't know what a different class network is I suggest you attend a course on basic networking otherwise you risk having a network thats incorrectly setup and probably insecure. Good luck!

I haven't set this on each device but surely there must be a way I can make a global setting for each device group.

Hi, I am setting up a bunch of iOS devices and they are all using the default time zone when I want them to be using NZ time. Is there an option in Systems manager to set the time zone for certain devices. There must be a way because if I was doing this setup with someone remotely I should be able to have this set for them.

@Asher is there a real requirement for a local NTP server, can you not rely on an external NTP like time.google.com Otherwise does your router not include an NTP option?

Sadly as @PhilipDAth mentioned there is no easy way. Submit a feature request for the future but that won't help you now sorry. While most people use some form of authentication service i.e. Radius or LDAP they probably haven't bothered, that said I don't think it would be hard for them to implement and doing so would give SMB customers who don't have auth servers options. Give the job to someone as punishment?

If the issue is happening at the same time every day is sounds like a scheduling issue on your firewall. What brand of firewall do you have and do you have the MGMT ports allowed for that switches IP. You can add more columns by clicking on this button, any info you add will also be added to the CSV export so you can export the owner this way. Re Installed Ap's I'd need to research this.

I don't think so, iOS devices send a lot of background traffic. If you network is set to require authentication to access the internet this background traffic will require the device to authenticate. I don't think you can specify that it ignores all traffic unless its port 80 or 443.

I agree, other vendors have been offering this for a while now. I suggest we all go to our dashboard now and make a request for it, if you have already made a request do it again. At the end of the day we need products that work for us and if Meraki won't listen they will lose business. @MerakiDave @CarolineS Can you push this, the community have been asking for a long time now!

Most hackers want personal data i.e. passwords, Credit card, passport and other personal information. Unless they are hell bent of technological warfare most are going to bother trying to hack security appliances where most of there traffic is SSL encrypted anyway. As previously stated the best approach is make sure all of your client devices are patched.

Can you physically view the switch to see what its doing i.e. check its status light. Like @PhilipDAth mentioned it sounds like a duplicate IP. If the issue has just started recently what has changed around the same time the issue started. Have you tried running a packet capture to see if its a DUP IP?

This year I will be continuing on our 10Gb rollout by purchasing the following equipment 5 x MS225-48FP 5 x MS225-24P 2 x MS225-24 1 x MS220-8P 2 x MS220-8 There may also be another MX unit added to the list. The rest of my budget is going towards hardware rollovers and more network monitoring software such as PRTG. Oh and server upgrades! we are moving our servers to almost entirely SSD.
