Alerts will inform when a DHCP server is enabled at any stage but also if you have one that isn't used often and has been sitting idle for some time I have found that when it does provide a lease the Meraki dashboard will send an alert. I've never seen the behaviour you are seeing just by rebooting a switch.

Agreed, a Hikvision camera is a fraction of the price and has industry standard motion detection. Sure the new gen cameras let you search based on the colour of the shirt someone is wearing but that basics aren't there yet. I am having a hard time justifying any further MV purchases.

There is always a delay even with local stream. I find the delay is 5-10 seconds usually. Cloud stream is much higher. If you want instant try RTSP otherwise you might need to look at other options.

@dcatiller what sensor did you use to monitor CPU usage? Auto discovery for me only picks up interface throughput, ping, uptime and HTTP. Any of the built in CPU monitoring options don't work for me and Meraki documentation doesn't list any specific MID or OID for Meraki gear.

Every morning I log into my dashboard and if I navigate to my systems manager section I get the below banner, it's been showing for weeks now and I click the x to get some real estate back but each morning it's there again. Whats more annoying it's informing me I don't need to do anything... Can we make it so that if you close a banner it's gone for good?

How do you budget for other equipment that is not Meraki and doesn't have a dashboard? You should be replacing equipment based on a lifecycle that you determine i.e. 3-7 years.

Thanks @PaulF for sharing, the wording on the dashboard is a little confusing, does the limited access role only cover SM devices? If so it might be worth adding Systems manager into the heading. The heading and the description make it sound as though it covers all Meraki devices.

Thanks for the information, it would be useful if general motion detection and area of interest detection were shown as different colours. Otherwise the option to follow industry standards but I would have thought different colours would be easier to code.

Yes I did consider this and wanted to avoid it in case having background footage could have been useful i.e. criminal activity but it looks like this might be the only option. It would be nice if strict motion detection was an option that could be enabled as I am sure there are others in the same boat.

Either I have misunderstood how motion detection on the MV works or I am doing something stupid. I have a camera setup near an entrance. I have enabled motion based retention and marked out an area of interest which only captures an area in from of the doorway. The issue is every piece of motion even outside of the selected area show as an activation on the timeline which is a problem because there is a road in the background of the view so every car that goes past is considered motion. Is this normal? Every other brand of camera I have used only records motion in the selected area of interest.

You could ask support if they can see when it was last connected however you will need to do this BEFORE removing it from your dashboard.

@Roey1984 If you claim the order numbers you can assign the devices to a network and assign the licenses to the devices all at once, you would only claim a serial number on it's on if you are replacing hardware i.e. an RMA or you like doing things the long way 😉

If you ignore the speed tests in the dashboard and try speedtest.net plugged into a switch port what speeds do you get. The WAN speed test does show it's in beta so any results you get from that might not be accurate.

They all came back online 2 hours later without doing anything. Suspect an issue with the Shard I am on caused them to go offline but report a faux reason.

within 10 minutes this morning all of my main networks sensor went offline and haven't come back online. There are positioned across the entire campus so not connected to a single MR/MV or even the same edge switch. https://status.meraki.net/# reports no issues. Curious if anyone else is having issues, if not I will open a support ticket.
